Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1

Release: June 2nd 2025

The Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1, released on June 2, 2025, marks the major expansion for the year-long adventure that began with Fallen Banners. This highly anticipated Update promises to thrust players back into a terrifying confrontation with the enigmatic and malevolent Worm Cult, a shadowy organization dedicated to necromancy and the twisted will of the King of Worms, Mannimarco himself. Prepare to face unsettling truths and perhaps even a return to places steeped in dark magic.

Key Features added in Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1

New Zone: Solstice

Journey to the brand-new tropical island of Solstice, located off the southern coast of Tamriel, near Murkmire. This visually stunning island blends High Elf and Argonian architectural styles, featuring sandy beaches, lush forests, and ancient ruins. Part 1 will focus on Western Solstice, with its main city Sunport (a bustling port city governed by Corelanya Elves and Tideborn Argonians). The Worm Cult has established a foothold here, harvesting souls and creating a monstrous barrier known as the Writhing Wall that divides the island. Expect new World Bosses, Delves, a Public Dungeon, and unique fauna like feathered Argonian Behemoths.

New Major Gameplay System: Subclassing

The ESO Subclassing System is designed to let characters access and utilize skill lines from classes outside their own, expanding creative potential across ESO Builds. Introduced as an account-wide feature in the base game, it empowers players with enhanced freedom, flexibility, and self-expression in character development, unlocking combinations that were previously impossible.

New 12-Player Trial: Ossein Cage

Dive into a terrifying new 12-player trial located deep within Coldharbour, Molag Bal's realm of Oblivion. The Ossein Cage is described as a "torture chamber formed by the bodies of all who died there," where the Worm Cult is hiding a powerful artifact called the Dolorous Cista. This relic absorbs pain and suffering to generate incredible magical power, and the Fighters Guild needs your help to destroy it before it can be used against Tamriel. Expect gruesome visuals, complex boss mechanics involving teleport pads, ramping damage, and managing various Daedric and undead monstrosities, including two Titan handlers.

New World Event (Later in 2025): The Writhing Wall

In Q3/Q4 of 2025, players can band together across Tamriel to bring down the Writhing Wall in a world-changing one-time event.

Update 46 Base Game Improvements (Free)

Alongside the Chapter, the free Update 46 brings additional quality-of-life improvements:
