This DLC would lead us into a new story arc called “Season of the Dragon '' and present us with two new dungeons - Frostvault and Depths of Malatar. In addition to a number of new item sets and collectibles, the base game would now feature a new Zone guide system that would assist in finding content to complete in each zone. Additionally, a new Battleground map was added and several older PvP item sets were updated. Also, the Guild Trader Interface was updated to add some new features.
Gameplay-wise, the racial passives were updated to achieve a greater balance. This caused quite some chaos in the player base when it was announced, and in order to help players to not level a new character for those that wanted to benefit from new changes 3 race change tokens were given to any active account at that time.
Also, long loading screens after every new patch were introduced, as new code was implemented to allow greater flexibility with updates and maintenance as ESO continues to grow over time.

- Guild Trader UI Improvements, Item name search, name matching, recent searches, price per unit display and sorting, category and filter updates
- Writ Reward Improvements
- New Achievements
- Champion Point Update, first time no increase of Champion Points for Update 21, or subsequent updates until a possible reworking of the entire Champion Point system
