The Elder Scrolls Online Night Market is the game’s first-ever Event Zone, delivering a limited-time, high-difficulty PvE experience set in the extra-planar city of Fargrave. Designed primarily for veteran players, the Night Market combines difficult world bosses, public events and a full 12-player Trial.

The Night Market Zone has some of the most ambitious rewards ESO has ever offered, including a free Night's Den player house with a functional in-house bank.

This guide covers everything you need to know about the Night Market event: dates, access, factions, districts, bosses, boons, daily quests, rewards and how to unlock and upgrade the free Night’s Den house.

Quick Event Facts

  • Event Type: Limited-time PvE Event Zone
  • Location: The Night Market Event Zone in Fargrave
  • Difficulty: Veteran-focused, group-oriented

What Is the Night Market in ESO?

The Night Market is a large-scale cooperative PvE zone set within an extra-planar city of Fargrave. Unlike standard overland zones, combat difficulty is intentionally elevated to be closer to Trials and Arenas, while still maintaining an open-world structure.

Night Market Features

  • Much higher combat difficulty than standard overland content
  • Faction-based progression using the Favor system
  • Escalating boss tiers that unlock stronger encounters
  • A strong focus on group mechanics and coordination

While solo play is technically possible, the Night Market is designed to reward grouping up and learning the boss mechanics.

ESO Night Market Event Availability

  1. Start Date: April 29, 2026
  2. End Date: June 17, 2026

ZeniMax has confirmed the Night Market will return later in 2026, with the potential to become a recurring or permanent feature depending on player feedback.

How to Get to the Night Market

You can access the Night Market using any of the following methods:

  1. Quest Starter: Pick up the free quest "Those Who Would Rule" from the Crown Store under Quest Starters and follow it's guideance.
  2. Direct Travel: Use the Starlit Plaza Wayshrine or select the new icon on the Fargrave Map to teleport directly
  3. The Curator: Locate The Curator within the Shambles in eastern Fargrave. He will guide you through a portal to the heart of the Night Market

Tip: The Night Market is designed for coordinated PvE play. Joining a group will dramatically improve your survivability and progression speed.

Choosing a Night Market Faction

Upon entering the zone, you must pledge allegiance to one of three factions. Your faction determines your titles, dyes, banners, monster sets and cosmetic rewards.

  1. The Glittering Goad (Patron: Tachien)Wealth-driven meritocrats who control most auctions and merchant stands. Power is earned through coin, contracts, and influence, anyone can rise, if they can afford it.
  2. The Ruckus (Patron: Kharakhal Moon-Eye)Enforcers who rule through strength and intimidation. They demand a cut of all business in exchange for protection, seeking to reclaim dominance after their district fell to darkness.
  3. The Thousand Eyes (Patron: Molto the Whisperer)An ancient collective of the overlooked and insignificant. They wield power through numbers, secrets, and information gathered from the shadows of the Market.

Important Faction Rules:

  • Faction choice is account-wide
  • It cannot be changed for the duration of the event season
  • Each faction offers rewards you can buy when you reach 1,000 / 2,500 / 5,000 / 10,000 Favor

The Winning Faction Reward

The Event Zone has a Faction Favor Tracker in the top-right corner of the screen, showing how much Favor each faction has earned throughout the event.

When the event concludes, all factions receive their faction-themed Monster Set Helm. The item quality depends on how well your faction performed:

  1. First Place: Golden Quality Faction Helm
  2. Second Place: Purple Quality Faction Helm
  3. Third Place: Blue Quality Faction Helm

Icon icon Bearer of Fargrave, Broken Skull How the Bearers of Fargrave met their end is a mystery known to no mortal or Daedra yet living. It's said a great and terrible calamity occurred, the Bearers forgot their purpose, and they met their ends as aetherial sands rose to consume them.
