What is the Night Market in ESO?

The Night Market is a large-scale cooperative PVE event zone set in the extra-planar city of Fargrave. Unlike traditional overland zones, it features higher difficulty, faction-based competition and progression-driven rewards that evolve as players complete event objectives.

When is the Night Market 2026 event?

The event begins on April 29, 2026, and runs for seven weeks, ending on June 17, 2026. If you miss the first window, don't worry. the developers have confirmed the Night Market will return at least once more later in 2026.

Where is the Night Market located?

The zone is located within the Oblivion realm of Fargrave. Players will be able to travel to this unique pocket of Oblivion once the event is live.

Is the Night Market free to play?

Yes. Access to the Night Market is free for all players who own the ESO base game or play via Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

How difficult is the Night Market?

This content is specifically tuned for experienced players and veteran groups.Difficulty Level: It is significantly harder than standard ESO content.Solo/Guild Play: While difficult, you do not need to be in a guild to participate.Note: This is a standalone challenge and is separate from the "Overland Difficulty" system arriving later in 2026.

What are the Night Market rewards?

Players can earn exclusive loot, including:Progressive Player Housing: A new house that you can unlock and upgrade.In-Game Bank: This is the first player house in ESO to include a functional in-game bank.Functional Rewards: New items designed to impact active gameplay in unique ways.

Is the Night Market a permanent addition to ESO?

Designed primarily for veteran players, the Night Market combines difficult world bosses, public events, dungeons and a full 12-player Trial.

The Night Market Zone has some of the most ambitious rewards ESO has ever offered, including a free Night's Den player house with a functional in-house bank.

What Is the ESO Night Market?

The Night Market is a large-scale cooperative PvE zone set within an extra-planar city of Fargrave. Unlike standard overland zones, combat difficulty is intentionally elevated to be closer to Trials and Arenas, while still maintaining an open-world structure.

Night Market Features

Much higher combat difficulty than standard overland content
Faction-based progression via the Favor (Reputation) system
Escalating boss tiers (Brazen → Argent → Gilded → Opulent)
Mechanics requiring coordination
12-player trial (Opulent Ordeal)

While solo play is technically possible, the Night Market is designed to reward grouping up and learning the boss mechanics.

How to Get to the Night Market in ESO

You can access the Night Market using any of the following methods:

Quest Starter: Pick up the free quest "Those Who Would Rule" from the Crown Store under Quest Starters and follow it's guideance.
Direct Travel: Use the Starlit Plaza Wayshrine or select the new icon on the Fargrave Map to teleport directly
The Curator: Locate The Curator within the Shambles in eastern Fargrave. He will guide you through a portal to the heart of the Night Market

Tip: The Night Market is designed for coordinated PvE play. Joining or following a group will improve your survivability.

ESO Night Market Factions

Upon entering the zone, you must pledge allegiance to one of three factions. Your faction determines your titles, dyes, banners, monster sets and cosmetic rewards.

The Glittering Goad (Patron: Tachien): Wealth-driven meritocrats who control most auctions and merchant stands. Power is earned through coin, contracts, and influence, anyone can rise, if they can afford it.
The Ruckus (Patron: Kharakhal Moon-Eye): Enforcers who rule through strength and intimidation. They demand a cut of all business in exchange for protection, seeking to reclaim dominance after their district fell to darkness.
The Thousand Eyes (Patron: Molto the Whisperer): An ancient collective of the overlooked and insignificant. They wield power through numbers, secrets, and information gathered from the shadows of the Market.

Faction Rules

Faction choice is account-wide
It cannot be changed for the duration of the event season
Each faction offers rewards you can buy when you reach 1,000 / 2,500 / 5,000 / 10,000 Favor

Winning Faction Rewards

While you're in the Event Zone you'll see a Faction Favor Tracker in the top-right corner of the screen for the total Favor your faction has earned.

When the event concludes, all factions receive their factions Banner furnishing, Monster Set Helm and Shoulder plus some gold. The item quality is based how well your Factions as a whole did:

First: Golden
Second: Purple
Third: Blue
