List of all Tamriel Tomes

Name End date
Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk 8 Jul 2026

Tamriel Tomes is ESO's battle pass system, introduced with Season Zero on April 2, 2026. Each season brings a new Tome with challenges to complete, Tome Points to earn and rewards to choose from. The first Tome is the Tome of Dawn and Dusk.

Unlike traditional MMO battle passes, Tamriel Tomes emphasizes player choice and long-term accessibility over daily grinding.

Tamriel Tomes System at a Glance

  • Release Date: April 2, 2026
  • Currency: Tome Points (earned from challenges)
  • Replaces: Daily Login Rewards and Endeavour tasks (Seals stay).
  • Cost: Free track for all. Premium $14.99 / Premium + Bonuses $29.99

What are ESO Tamriel Tomes

Tamriel Tomes is ESO's version of a battle pass. Each Tome is tied to the current season and contains pages of rewards you unlock by completing challenges.

The system replaced Endeavors and Daily Login Rewards, absorbing their tasks and rewards into a single progression track.

Tamriel Tomes are designed to:

  • Reduced daily chore fatigue
  • Give you control over which rewards you unlock
  • Consolidate activities and rewards into a single interface

How it works:

  1. Complete a challenge
  2. Claim Tome Points
  3. Tome Points are used to: Claim rewards and Unlock the next page of rewards (unlocking does not consume points)

What Carries Over and What Doesn't

  • Tamriel Tome: Expires when the season ends. Purchase a Premium tier to keep it permanently.
  • Tome Points: Up to 2,000 carry forward. Anything above that is lost at season end.
  • Tome Point Caches: Never expire. You can hold them unopened across multiple seasons.
  • Premium Tome Tokens: Do not expire, but can only be redeemed on a Tome that is currently active.
  • Challenges: Removed when the season ends.

What ESO Tamriel Tomes Replaced

Tamriel Tomes consolidated several older ESO reward systems.

  1. Endeavor tasks: Seals still exist as a currency inside Tamriel Tomes. You can spend Seals to claim Crown Crate items.
  2. Daily Login Rewards: Many of those rewards now appear in the free Tome track. A "Daily Login" seasonal challenge inside Tamriel Tomes still rewards you for logging in regularly.

How to Open Tamriel Tomes

Press F4 on PC or select the book icon next to Crown Crates in the menu bar.

From the Tomes screen you can:

  • Browse reward pages (free rewards on the bottom half, premium on top)
  • Switch between weekly challenges (clock icon) and seasonal challenges (calendar icon)
  • Pin a challenge to your HUD by pressing E so you can track it during gameplay
  • Claim completed rewards with R
  • Open Tome Point Caches with F (your cache count displays at the bottom of the screen)

ESO Tome Points vs Trader Bars

The Tome Points and Trade Bar currencies both come from the Tamriel Tome system but they do completely different things and are often confused.  Here is a simple explanation:

  • Tome Points: Earned from Tome challenges. Used inside Tamriel Tomes only.
  • Trade Bars: Earned from Events and claimed from Tamriel Tomes. Used in the Gold Coast Bazaar and Event Merchants.
Currency Earned Spent
Tome Points Completing Challenges in the Tamriel Tome Inside the Tamriel Tome to unlock rewards
Trade Bars Events, Tome rewards, PvP Veterancy Gold Coast Bazaar and Event Merchants

The simple version: Tamriel Tome Challenges → Tome Points → unlock pages and claim rewards (some rewards are Trade Bars)

How to Earn ESO Tome Points

ESO Tome Points are earned by completing Weekly and Seasonal Challenges. All challenges are designed to fit different playstyles including questing, PvE, PvP, crafting and exploration.

Tome Points serve two purposes:

  1. Unlock Tome Pages: Reaching point milestones opens new pages with new rewards
  2. Spend on rewards: You spend points to claim rewards on any unlocked page in any order

Up to 2,000 unused Tome Points carry over into the next season. Any points above this cap are lost when the season ends.

Caches of Tome Points

A Tome Point Cache is a consumable item that grants 2,000 Tome Points when opened. You open caches from the Tamriel Tomes screen by pressing F (on PC).

Where you get caches:

  • ESO Plus membership: One cache per month, granted up front at purchase
  • Premium + Bonuses Tamriel Tome: Two caches included with purchase (4,000 Tome Points total)

Caches do not expire. You can hold them across seasons and open them whenever you want. They are not capped, so you can stockpile multiple caches before opening them. Opening a cache adds to your total Tome Points earned, which means it also counts toward unlocking new pages.

ESO Tome Challenges

There are two types of challenges in the ESO Tamriel Tomes system: Weekly and Seasonal.

  • Weekly Challenges refresh every week. Each one can appear multiple times throughout the season, and some let you claim the Tome Point reward more than once.
  • Seasonal Challenges are available for the full duration of the season and do not rotate.

Many weekly challenges allow multiple claims (2-6 times) during the season. A single challenge can be worth several hundred points total if you complete it each time it appears.

List of all possible challenges: ESO Tamriel Tomes Challenges and Tome Point Rewards

Weekly Challenges

  • 5 new challenges available per week
  • If you reach the 12-challenge cap when new weeklies arrive, the new ones are lost.
  • You get 5 free rerolls per week to replace challenges you don't want
  • Rerolls stack up to 12 if unused. Additional rerolls beyond the free ones can be purchased.
  • You cannot reroll a challenge once you have claimed Tome Points from it.
  • Similar to Endeavor tasks like: resource gathering, dungeon clears, world boss kills, PvP objectives, crafting and more

Example Weekly Tome Challenges

  1. Defeat the Serpent of Sanctum Ophidia  525 Tome Points
  2. Complete 1 Arena 200 Tome Points
  3. Loot 1 Treasure Chest 75 Tome Points

Seasonal Challenges

  • Larger objectives spanning the full season
  • Higher Tome Point rewards
  • Cannot be rerolled
  • Some may be introduced midway through the season

Example Seasonal Tome Challenges

  1. Earn 5000 Faction Favor in the Night Market 1,000 Tome Points
  2. Jubilee Event: Earn 50 Gift Boxes 1,000 Tome Points
  3. Daily Login 15 Tome Points (can be claimed multiple times)

Tips for Earning More Tome Points

Use your rerolls on low-value challenges. If you get a 60-point challenge, reroll it for a shot at something in the 200-525 range. You get 5 free rerolls per week and they stack up to 12. Once you've claimed points from a challenge, it can no longer be rerolled.

Compare total value, not just per-claim value. A challenge worth 60 per claim with 6 claims totals 360. One worth 200 per claim with 3 claims totals 600. Prioritize the higher total.

Pin challenges to your HUD. Press E on any challenge to track it on screen without reopening the Tome menu.

Don't skip the Daily Login challenge. At 15 points per claim with 99 claims available, it adds up to 1,485 Tome Points across the full season. Unclaimed days accumulate and can be claimed in bulk.

ESO Tamriel Tome Tiers

Each Tamriel Tome in ESO offers three tiers. The free tier is available to all players. The two paid tiers are optional and can only be purchased while the Tome's season is active.

The difference between tiers:

  • The free Tome expires when the season ends.
  • The paid tiers do not. If you purchase either premium option, you can continue earning rewards from that Tome with no time limit.
