ESO Season 0 - 2026 Starts out with the true first Season Zero called "Dusk and Dawn".

In ESO Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk, all new gameplay content is now free for base game owners. This update introduces the Tamriel Tomes progression system, the Gold Coast Bazaar for returning collectibles, new overland difficulty settings and much more.

Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk is The Elder Scrolls Online’s first-ever seasonal content release, introducing a completely new way to play ESO with recurring systems, event-driven content and major game improvements, all free with the base game!

Instead of a classic questing zone, Season Zero focuses on reward progression, event zone and quality-of-life upgrades, laying the foundation for ESO’s seasonal model moving forward

(2 items) Dealing damage with a Bash or Heavy Attack deals 1024 Frost damage over 8 seconds to the enemy. This effect can occur once every 8 seconds. If the effect completes, the enemy applies Minor Brittle to up to of 6 enemies within 12 meters of itself for 10 seconds. If the enemy dies, the enemy releases glittering energy, restoring 847 Magicka and Stamina to you and group members within 12 meters of the enemy.

(2 items) Taking or dealing direct damage grants you a stack of Skirmish for 10 seconds. You can gain Skirmish every 1 second, up to 10 stacks. Lose 1 stack every 5 seconds when not taking or dealing damage. At max stacks, you no longer gain or lose stacks of Skirmish and you gain Major Protection, Major Expedition, and Major Force for 10 seconds. When max Skirmish ends, your Stamina, Magicka, and Health Recovery are reduced by 422 for 10 seconds.

(2 items) Dealing direct critical damage applies Shived to the enemy, dealing 1357 Bleed damage and increasing their damage taken from you by 2% for 15 seconds. This damage scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage. When the enemy dies, Shived is reapplied to the lowest health enemy within 12 meters of the corpse and increases the damage taken by 2%, up to 8%. You may only have 1 enemy with Shived.

Season Zero Content Release Schedule

Unlike traditional ESO Chapters, Season Zero content does not launch all at once. Instead, major features and events unlock gradually over the course of the Season.

March 9 Update 49 launches on all platforms. 
March 25 Gold Coast Bazaar storefront activates and all existing Event Tickets convert to Trade Bars
April 2 Season Zero officially begins. Tamriel Tomes (new seasonal reward system) become available and the Gold Coast Bazaar expands with additional inventory.
April 29 Night Market Event Zone opens
June 17 Night Market Event Zone closes.
Late Season Zero (May/June) Werewolf Skill Line Refresh and first step of the Overland Difficulty system is introduced  

Tamriel Tomes: New Seasonal Reward System

With Update 49, ESO introduces Tamriel Tomes, a seasonal progression system similar to a battle pass, designed to unify several previous reward systems.

Tamriel Tomes replaces and absorbs several older ESO reward systems:

  • Seals (Previously Seals of Endeavor): Seals will no longer have separate tasks or their own UI. Seals are now earned directly through Tome progression.
  • Daily Login Rewards: The whole Daily Login Reward system is removed from the game. Many of its rewards can be found in Tamriel Tomes.
  • Trade Bars (New): A non-premium currency used at the Gold Coast Bazaar to purchase older collectibles. You can earn an unlimited amount of Trade Bars, but you can not buy them with Crowns.
  • Event Tickets cease to exist: As of Update 49 (March 9 2026), Event Tickets will cease to exist and will automatically convert to Trade Bars at a rate of 1 Ticket = 100 Trade Bars.

Gold Coast Bazaar and Trade Bars

Season Zero introduces a new earnable-currency shop called the Gold Coast Bazaar, located inside the Crown Store interface.

  • What is it? A new in-game storefront for earning legacy and limited-time rewards via gameplay. 
  • Old Reward Types found in the Bazaar: Golden PursuitDaily LoginEvents, Promotional rewards (Twitch Drops, Prime Gaming, etc). and ESO Plus monthly freebies
  • Currency: Trade Bars will replace Event Tickets. (1 Event Ticket = 100 Trade Bars.)
  • Launch Date: March 25, 2026. Full Bazaar offerings added as Season Zero starts April 2, 2026.

The Night Market: New Event Zone (High-Difficulty PvE)

The Night Market is ESO’s first Event Zone, a new type of open-world area designed to be much harder than normal zones and focused on group gameplay.

  • Event Type: Limited-time PvE Event Zone
  • Access: Free
  • Location: The Night Market Event Zone in Fargrave 
  • Difficulty: Veteran-focused, group-oriented

Season Zero arrives with Update 49, one of ESO’s largest quality-of-life updates,

  • Free respecs from the UI for skills and attributes. Unavailable in combat or leaderboard content
  • Back-bar weapons now gain XP (disabled with [Oakensoul])

Mounts and Travel

  • Stable training now grants 3 upgrades per session
  • Many mounts now purchasable with Gold instead of Crown
  • Reduced gold cost for mount purchases

Inventory and Banking

  • Bag and bank upgrades ~50% cheaper
  • Upgrade access directly from inventory

Collectibles, Furnishings & Rewards

Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk adds a large number of new achievements, collectibles, item sets, and furnishings that can be earned through Tamriel Tomes, the Night Market Event Zone, Trials, Antiquities, PvP and vendors.

There are 61 achievements, with 6 new titles and 3 new dyes!

New Furnishings

55 new furnishing plans are being sourced in four locations:

7 new Master Writ furnishings,

Purchased from Rolis Hlaalu.

34 new structural furnishing plans

Can be acquired via the Solstice Reward Coffer, obtainable by completing the Solstice World Boss, or Delve Daily Quests.

13 new furnishings plans

Can be found in the Deadlands, Fargrave, and the Night Market from monsters, containers, and more across Tamriel.

25 new achievement furnishings

are being added and can be unlocked or purchased after completing the prerequisite achievements:

  • 20 new achievement furnishings can be purchased from the Night Market faction vendors Fennel, Nymisasha, and Najirra after completing the required achievements and earning enough favor with a faction.
  • 3 new collectible furnishings will be mailed to you after you gain enough favor with a faction.
  • 2 new trophy and bust furnishings can be earned by defeating the Web Eater in the Opulent Ordeal.

5 new antiquity furnishing leads

Can be discovered from activities in the Night Market, and once your codex entry is complete, can be purchased from the achievement vendor Lozotusk in Coldharbor.
