Markarth
November 2, 2020 - PC/Mac/Stadia, Consoles - Patch Notes
Markarth brought us an entirely new zone in the Skyrim region which was very much like Western Skyrim, as it had an upper and a lower side with the The Reach version of Blackreach.
With the zone we concluded the story arc around the "Dark Heart of Skyrim '' and got a new solo arena - Vateshran Hollows. Also, ZOS introduced the Item Set Collections to the base game, a new system to help players find and manage all item sets, along with increasing the cap for Transmute Crystals by a lot. There were also group queues re-added back to Battlegrounds and many bugs got fixed with this Update.
New Features & Updates
Markarth DLC
- New Zone – The Reach & new Blackreach cavern zone, with lots of new quests and the conclusion of the story arc "Dark Heart of Skyrim"
- New Solo Arena – Vateshran Hollows, with three arenas that could be played the way players wanted, with a final arena at the end and the endboss
- New Item Sets, Antiquities, Collectibles and Outfit Styles, Motifs, Achievements, Titles & Dyes, Furnishings
Base Game
- Item Set Collections. This proved to be a rather big chance for ESO, as many players had been filling their banks, houses and inventory with all possible kinds of gear. Now they could gather them all in this Set Collection and get rid of the original, recollecting it by using Transmute Gems in the trait they wanted to, as long as they had it researched. Also the cost would be lower for items if the set was complete.
- Transmute Crystal Update. With being able to collect so many more items and reconstructing them, the cap was also increased up to 500 Transmute Crystals (1000 for ESO+ members)
- Battlegrounds Updates. Group-queueing was re-added to Battlegrounds, making it possible for 4 players to join in a queue together again and be on the same team. There's also a solo queue only feature introduced which would help players get in a match that was entirely made up of other solo queuers
- New Craftable Consumable: Alliance War Skill Boosters. These were new consumables which would help with increasing the rate at which a character would advance in an Alliance War Skill Line by either 50%, 100% or 150% respectively. These boosters were called War Tortes and would need to be crafted much like the PvE experience boosters.
- New PvP Emote
- Character Pathing “Align to Terrain” Option
- Client Optimization & Stability. Improvements were made to where there were many players using many abilities (for example in Cyrodiil). These situations were some of the most demanding performance-wise and have been optimized so that players should now see a reduced impact to FPS in intense scenarios.
