ESO Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 Overview

ESO Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 released on June 2, 2025, marks the major expansion for the year-long adventure that began with Fallen Banners.

In Part 1 (released June 2025), as you explore Western Solstice, you will quickly discover that the Worm Cult is far from defenseless. They’ve erected a massive arcane barrier using soul magic—the Writhing Wall—that divides the island, and for now, Eastern Solstice (and its secrets) is sealed off by this arcane edifice.

Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 Features in ESO

Despite being a zone divided, you will find that Western Solstice is full of challenges and rewards, including new World Bosses, Delves, a Public Dungeon, and a brand-new Trial, the Ossein Cage. There are 16 Antiquities (including three new Mythic items), four new Trial item sets (including Perfected versions), and a host of other rewards, including even more item sets, and a ton of Collectibles, from crafting motifs to pets. Explore Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 in ESO

The Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1, released on June 2, 2025, marks the major expansion for the year-long adventure that began with Fallen Banners. This highly anticipated Update promises to thrust players back into a terrifying confrontation with the enigmatic and malevolent Worm Cult, a shadowy organization dedicated to necromancy and the twisted will of the King of Worms, Mannimarco himself. Prepare to face unsettling truths and perhaps even a return to places steeped in dark magic.

New Zone: Solstice

Journey to the brand-new tropical island of Solstice, located off the southern coast of Tamriel, near Murkmire. This visually stunning island blends High Elf and Argonian architectural styles, featuring sandy beaches, lush forests, and ancient ruins. Part 1 will focus on Western Solstice, with its main city Sunport (a bustling port city governed by Corelanya Elves and Tideborn Argonians).

The Worm Cult has established a foothold here, harvesting souls and creating a monstrous barrier known as the Writhing Wall that divides the island. Expect new World Bosses, Delves, a Public Dungeon, and unique fauna like feathered Argonian Behemoths.

New Story: A direct sequel to ESO's Main Story

Travel to the mysterious island of Solstice and begin your new adventure right where The Elder Scrolls Online's main story left off. Though Molag Bal and Mannimarco were defeated in the Oblivion plane of Coldharbour, the Worm Cult has returned. Unravel their dire plans and uncover the secrets of the Writhing Wall, a colossal arcane barrier that divides the island. Tamriel hangs in the balance!

New Major Gameplay System: Subclassing

The ESO Subclassing System is designed to let characters access and utilize skill lines from classes outside their own, expanding creative potential across ESO Builds. Introduced as an account-wide feature in the base game, it empowers players with enhanced freedom, flexibility, and self-expression in character development, unlocking combinations that were previously impossible.

New 12-Player Trial: Ossein Cage

Mannimarco had many vaults with hidden artifacts and objects of power. Ossein Cage is one such vault, located deep within Coldharbour. Within it is where a powerful object, the Dolorous Cista, is kept.

The object is said to magnify the powers of those strong enough to use it, and malevolent forces aim to retrieve it. With the Worm Cults resurgence, the Fighter’s Guild now finds it imperative they destroy the Dolorous Cista before it can be used. The secret attack, or so they thought, on Ossein Cage by the Fighter’s Guild was met with disaster and now they need your help destroying the Dolorous Cista.

New World Event (Later in 2025): The Writhing Wall

The Writhing Wall is a massive, magic-infused barrier made of tormented souls, erected by the villainous Worm Cult on the new island of Solstice, dividing it in half. This colossal obstacle serves to protect the cult's operations in Eastern Solstice. In a unique, server-wide event happening in late 2025, the entire Elder Scrolls Online community must unite to collectively contribute to its destruction.

Success will unlock the previously inaccessible eastern half of the island and advance the "Seasons of the Worm Cult" story for that server, while failure could lead to unique, darker narrative consequences.
