This update will be seen and quoted in future as an absolute game-changer to the way players experienced ESO. No longer were people level-guarded and could explore the world freely, nor were they held back by boundaries such as alliances. Everyone could go everywhere, quest and level the way they wanted and experience the game how they wanted to. Neither the alliance, nor the level mattered anymore, as everything scaled to the player now. Alliances no longer played a role in anything but in Cyrodiil, where players were still fighting for their alliances.
This update also included an overhaul to what was previously known as an Adventure Zone; Craglorn. Solo questers were now able to take on many of Craglorn's challenges at any point.One Tamriel
- Game content is no longer gated by a character's level
- Right out of the tutorial you'll have the freedom to go anywhere in Tamriel and play any content, in any order, just like other Elder Scrolls games. Your character will automatically scale and balance to the content
- The alliance restrictions have been lifted in all open-world zones, with the exception of PvP areas
- High-level players will be able to group with friends who are new to ESO; anyone below Champion 160 will scale so everyone can adventure together
- Every zone has been modified to ensure a mixture of content for solo and group play is available
Craglorn Updates
- Craglorn has been re-designed so not all content will require a group to play
- The main story quests are now balanced for one player, and the remaining group content can be completed with as little as two players
- The group-number restrictions on all quests or doors have been removed
- Because of the significant changes, you will be able to complete all the quests in Craglorn even if you've done them once before
- Tackle group delves to find new rewards, or take on one of the world events with a full group for new achievements
Dungeons
- All Dungeons now have both Normal and Veteran modes
- Previous Dungeons which had a unique Veteran mode have been converted to Version I and II; each version now has a Normal and Veteran mode
- Each Veteran dungeon now contains a Monster Mask and Shoulder set
- Veteran Mode is the only way to obtain Monster Masks
- Undaunted Chests are the only place to find Shoulder pieces
- Dungeons which didn't previously have a Hard Mode mechanic now have a Scroll of Glorious Battle before each final boss to activate Hard Mode
- Undaunted Pledges- There is no longer a Bronze, Silver and Gold key. All keys have been converted Undaunted Keys and reward a Shoulder set piece with each use- With the addition of a new Pledge Questgiver, Urgalarg Chief-bane, there are three sources for daily Pledges- Up to six Undaunted Keys can be earned each day- Normal dungeons award one Key- Veteran dungeons award one Key- Veteran Hard Mode awards two Keys
Itemization
- In general, each dungeon and zone will drop three setsOne light, one medium and one heavy
- One light, one medium and one heavy
- All set drops will scale up to CP160
- Item Sets drop for every item slotThis excludes Willpower, Agility and Endurance sets

- All overland set drops are Bind-On-Equip

Dueling
- The option to initiate a duel appears on the social interaction wheel
- Players can type '/duel [Player Name]' into the chatbox
- Duels may be initiated in any non-PVP overland zone against a player of any alliance
- Duelers will have Battle Spirit applied
- Outside effects such as buffs or heals will be ignored
- Engaging in combat with a creature during a duel will not end it
- Duels can only be done between two players
- Only so many duels can take place within a certain area
- The option to automatically decline duels is found in Social settings
Crafting
- Crafting Motifs previously available in Cadwell's Gold/Silver zones can now be found anywhere
- Daedra Hearts may drop from humanoid Daedra
- Argentum, Copper and Palladium style items can be found in treasure chests
- Writs can be picked up from any zone regardless of alliance
- Survey Reports from crafting Writs could send players to any zone
- If no Survey Report is given, a Shipment of 25 lower-level materials will be given instead
- All harvest nodes scale to the player's crafting rank or level
- Three new Crafting MotifsDraugr- Complete guild dailies for a chance at Draugr chapters and Pristine Shroud style itemsYokudan- Complete Craglorn dailies for Ferrous Salts and Yokudan chaptersCelestial- Complete weekly quests for Craglorn trials to earn chapters. Defeat trial bosses for Star Sapphires
New Features
- Weapon Ultimates for each weapon type, obtained at Rank 50
- The Champion Point cap has been raised from 501 to 531
- Each guild faction has a repeatable daily quest
- Newer minions of Molag Bal now spawn at Dark Anchors
- Any General can appear at any zone's Anchors
- Repeatable quest givers have a different quest marker
- Vendors stock goods close to each character's level
- Grand Soul Gems have been renamed to Soul Gems- Lower-tier Soul Gems will no longer drop
- Players from any alliance may use the Ritual of Mara together
