Necrom Chapter

Release: June 5th 2023

The Necrom" Chapter, released in June 2023, was the highly anticipated cornerstone of the year-long "Shadow Over Morrowind" adventure. This massive Chapter plunged players into the esoteric and often unsettling domains of the Daedric Prince of Knowledge, Hermaeus Mora, with a story focused on forbidden secrets, cosmic threats, and the fate of reality itself. It stood out not only for its unique zones but also for the introduction of a brand-new,

Key Features added in the Necrom Chapter

A new playable class: The Arcanist

Arcanist is the headline feature for many returning players! The Arcanist is the first new class added to ESO since the [Necromancer] in 2019.

Unique Combat System (Crux): The Arcanist wields the forbidden powers of Apocrypha, manifesting arcane energies, ancient runes, and lost tomes. Its core mechanic is the "Crux" system: certain abilities generate Crux, which can then be spent by other abilities to empower them with additional effects, damage, healing, or resource returns. This creates a dynamic "build and spend" playstyle.

Two New Zones: Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha

Telvanni Peninsula: Return to the familiar, yet distinct, eastern reaches of Morrowind. This zone is dominated by the bizarre, towering mushroom-shaped wizard towers of House Telvanni, craggy coastlines, and unique flora and fauna. The city of Necrom, the "City of the Dead," serves as a central hub, a fascinating and ancient Dunmer spiritual center that hasn't been seen in an Elder Scrolls game since Arena.

Apocrypha: For the first time, players can extensively explore the Daedric realm of Hermaeus Mora. This alien dimension is a literal endless library of forbidden knowledge, filled with grotesque, tentacled Daedra, floating books, and mind-bending landscapes. You'll encounter both the organized Ciphers of the Eye and the horrifying "Hushed," mortals who have lost their minds to the realm's dangerous secrets. The new sub-zone, Chroma Incognito, offers a particularly surreal experience

Two New Companions: Azandar Al-Cybiades and Sharp-As-Night

Azandar Al-Cybiades: A Redguard Arcanist and a scholarly polymath, obsessed with knowledge and invention. He's a powerful damage dealer with strong support capabilities, reflecting his academic approach to combat.

Sharp-As-Night: An Argonian Warden with a cynical outlook and a dry wit, often expressing a desire to escape his responsibilities. He excels as a tank or melee damage dealer, offering a gruff but loyal presence. As with previous companions, you can level them, equip them, and develop their rapport, unlocking personal quests and deepening their stories.

New 12-Player Trial: Sanity's Edge

Sanity's Edge, a challenging trial takes players into the tormented mind of a powerful Mages Guild member, struggling against Daedric corruption. Expect surreal environments, complex boss mechanics that often involve mental projections and reality shifts, and a need for highly coordinated group play to overcome the madness and claim top-tier trial gear.

New World Event: Bastion Nymic

A unique open-world event that requires players to open portals to Apocrypha and defend Hermaeus Mora's citadels from invading forces. These events are similar to other world events but with a distinct Apocryphan twist, culminating in battles against powerful Daedric bosses.

New Tales of Tribute Deck: Almalexia

For fans of the in-game card game, "Necrom" introduced a new Tales of Tribute patron deck themed around the Living God Almalexia, adding new strategies and collectibles to the popular minigame
