Guide

Build Explaination

This is a fun pet-focused build that can be adopted by a Templar, Sorcerer or Warden.  Using Summon Unstable Clannfear and perhaps a companion for tanking, pets do a lot of the damage supported by stats, passives and one bar of skills.  Durability and maximizing output are not the focus of this build; this is to have some genuine Fun With Subclassing.

Gear

Head: Slimecraw (Light, Divines, Max Magicka)

Shoulders, Chest, Hands, Waist, Legs: Law of Julianos (Light, Divines, Max Magicka)

Feet, Neck, Ring, Staff: Order's Wrath (Arcane/Precise, Spell Damage/Shock Damage)

Ring: Oakensoul Ring (Arcane, Spell Damage)

Alternative: Replace Law of Julianos with Morkuldin for a little bit less damage, but even more “summoned peeps doing deets” fun! Being sure to weave in a light or heavy attack will keep the sword swinging.

Attributes
Magicka: 64

Skills and Rotation

One Bar (Destruction Staff, no swap with Oakensoul Ring):

  1. Screaming Cliff Racer (single-target DPS)
    • Spammable, with light/heavy attack weaving especially if using Morkuldin
    • Can set targets off-balance for more damage
  2. Deep Fissure (AoE/DoT, Major Breach and Minor Breach)
    • Maximizes your damage with both breach debuffs
    • Three Animal Summoning skills add up to +15% critical damage from Advanced Species
  3. Luminous Shards (AoE/sustain)
    • Added damage, and you can use your own Magicka & Stamina restoration synergy
    • Activates Piercing Spear passive for +12% critical damage
  4. Summon Unstable Clannfear (tank/heal)
    • Strong heal for yourself when needed (bit higher than Twilight Matriarch)
    • If your companion (or buddy) has the tanking covered, could swap to Summon Volatile Familiar for a bit more damage
  5. Summon Twilight Matriarch (heal/DPS)
    • Almost as much damage as the other morph, with the best burst heal for you OR an ally (other pet) when you need it
  6. Wild Guardian (dps)

Rotation thoughts

Send your pets into the target(s) ahead of you, and trigger Deep Fissure so it will go off 3 seconds later when you are closer to the group. As you're approaching, send a Screaming Cliff Racer while >7 meters out to set a target off balance.  Once the beetles pop off their breaches, lay down Luminous Shards for some good AOE fun.

Trigger the Ultimate when ready for extra bear damage. If you swapped to Summon Volatile Familiar then be sure to keep that active for extra AOE and stuns. Otherwise, Summon Unstable Clannfear is your first choice to heal yourself, Summon Twilight Matriarch for itself and you/other pets/companion/etc.

Recommended Addon: A Pet Health Bar addon to better spot when you need to trigger a heal

Champion Points:

As you gain Champion Points, these are the ones to focus on first:

Warfare Tree

Unlock Priority (Required First):

  • [Precision]: 10 CP (2 stages, 320 Critical Chance) – Unlocks all Warfare nodes.
  • High Impact (DPS Focus):
[Fighting Finesse]: 40 CP (+8% Critical Damage) – Boosts crit damage (3% DPS).
  • [Wrathful Strikes]: 50 CP (+205 Spell Damage) – Enhances ability damage (5–6% DPS).
  • [Deadly Aim]: 50 CP (+6% single-target damage) – Boosts pet/ability DPS (4.2–4.8%).
  • [Master-at-Arms]: 50 CP (+6% direct damage) – Maximizes direct attacks (4.8–5.4%).
  • Slottables: [Fighting Finesse], [Wrathful Strikes], [Deadly Aim], [Master-at-Arms] (21.7–23.3% DPS).

Secondary Impact:

  • [Force of Nature]: 50 CP (+3% status effect damage) – Boosts [Lightning Staff] synergy (~1% DPS).
  • [Exploit]: 30 CP (+3% vs. Off Balance) – Enhances Screaming Cliff Racer (~1.5% DPS, 50% uptime).
  • [Tireless Discipline]: 20 CP (+150 Stamina Recovery) – Supports high-cost actions (e.g., 3367 Break Free).

Fitness Tree

Unlock Priority are the core Slottables:

  • [Boundless Vitality]: 20 CP (+600 Health)
  • [Fortified]: 20 CP (+600 Armor) – Increases mitigation (~10%).
  • [Rejuvenation]: 20 CP (+150 Health/Magicka/Stamina Recovery) – Improves sustain.

For the remainder, take them in the order they unlock as you gain skill points. [Celerity] isn't really required, it's just nice to have the extra little speed.

Craft Tree

These are just quality of life items. Pick the ones that make your gameplay more enjoyable! Strongly recommend the new [Discipline Artisan] to level your skill lines more quickly if they are not maxed!
