I'm sure your survey toon must have many survey reports and treasure maps. So, to save room in your inventory, a build for both survey and battle is required.

( If you want to WB and so on while you gather materials. )

Vesture of Darloc Brae can.

Most important point of the build is to keep crouching even in battle.

While you crouch, you gain about 700 HP and stamina and magicka every second. It's strong enough to do WB.(not enough to do DPS in Vet contents)

You know, your crouching is interrupted by being hit or using some damage ability. 
Anytime you must start to crouch right after your attack hitting enemies if your next attack will  happen after 1 or more seconds.

It means…

 LClick(light attack) → Number(Weaving damage ability) → (enemy being hit) → Ctrl(start crouch) →LClick press(HA start) → (after 3sec) → (enemy being hit by HA and interrupts crouch) → (Anyway, push habitually Ctrl)

If you don't cast other interrupt-able abilities, you can crouch during HA and trigger Darloc 2 times. Or, Darloc ends in vain.
It's why the build is not easy but logical. Your HA gains an additional 1500*3 resources and other attack abilities also gain some if all conditions are met. 

Darloc 's dps is lower. Kick Darlocker if they join your PT. But solo total power is not low. I love Darloc. I am Darloc Brae.

Tips of Heal 

Keep Carve ‘s DoT damage and you get healed by Leeching Strikes . The DoT doesn’t interrupt crouching.

Toggle off Sated Fury  and you get burst healed.

If you are bothered your Light Attack interrupting crouching, remind Mend Wounds .

Alternate Set Items

Swift & reduce magicka cost Darloc ring and neck. you gain maximum 14% speed, requiring 2 inventory.

Marauder's Haste can boost your movement speed.  you gain maximum 20% speed, requiring 4 inventory.

Oblivion's Foe was a good damage source and could/can keep crouching about 3 years ago. Now, DPS is a bit low.

Speed

I think, the goal of speed bonuses is about 100%. and, we can archive the value easily.

Just because you want to be speed build you don't need to set Steed mundus.

(Wild Hunt 45% &  Legendary Swift trait 7%, Minor Expedition 15%, CP 20% & 10%,  total 97%. If you love 100%, change ring's trait to swift.)

Of course these speed bonuses include the type having the specific condition “Out Of Combat”, more stacking is not in vain.

(Steed Blessing 20%, Wild Hunt 45% → 15%(30%decrease), total 50%)

If you want to keep 100% speed bonus even in combat, Major Expedition 30%, Marauder's Haste(20% at Legendary), Steed Mundus(base 10%  * trait divines bonus, about 15%),…or, simply run.

The well-known combo(Set item Prisoner's Rags, Coward's Gear, Fiord's Legacy, Mythic item Stormweaver's Cavort and Vampire 4 Unnatural Movement) is recommended.

Stealth

Night Mother's Embrace (5) + Darloc(4) + Night Terror(3) combo has maximum stealth value. You can even TOUCH FRONTSIDE of enemies with keeping stealth.

It's a bit useful for crime. The guard wil never detect you unless you remove your stealth.

But, you probably can't battle enough. You can keep stealth enough with Darloc & Night Terror.

Skills that do not interrupt crouching(not complete list)

• Soul Trap (best skill. never trigger overcharged. setitem Oblibion's foe also never trigger.)
• Carve (dot only. can extend to 32 sec. direct damage interrupts crouching)
• Structured Entropy (overcharged interrupts)
• Cripple (overcharged interrupts crouching)
• Vampiric Drain ※ 2025-04-21 I confirmed the skill no longer keep crouching
• Blighted Blastbones
• Fetcher Infection (overcharged interrupts)
• Growing Swarm (splash damage interrupts)
• Heavy Attack of Inferno Staff (dot only. direct damage interrupts crouching)
• Pet/Companion Attacks
• Mend Wounds (LA only. If HA, you'll begin to stand up)

Any Direct damage, Any AoE damage, status direct damage(overcharged, chilled, etc), some DoT damage( e.g Radiant Destruction), HA DoT damage of Lightning Staff and Healing Staff, they interrupt crouching.

Expedition & Shield Skills Detectability

You can be detected/keep stealth when you use it.

• Falcon's Swiftness (Warden)
• Crystallzed Shield (Warden. would better not to morph to Crystallized Slab , which cause to reflect damage)
• Defensive Posture (1H&Shield)
• Annulment (Light Armor)
• Accelerate (Psijic. Sometimes Passive Skill may happen to attack enemies and reveal you)

Be detected

• Rapid Maneuver
• Path Of Darkness (Nightblade)
• Bone Shield
• Steadfast Ward (Healing Staff)
• Mist Form (Vampire. In the past, it was the strongest synergy ever with Darloc.)
• Quick Cloak (DW)
• Conjured Ward (Sorcerer)
• Lightning Form ('s both morph) (Sorcerer)

Setup

You can do Vet Maelstrom with below two WB(One Bar) setups.

Your weapon damage links Pelinal's shield value. I recommend trait is Nirnhoned , weapon is sword, and CP is Untamed Aggression.

Survey

Crouch like a cockroach. Kill trashes quickly.

Thanks to Darloc, without much magicka cost, you can use a Major Expedition ability and an invisible ability.

Ambush → Power Extraction, Reaper's Mark (buffs)→ Carve, 2H'sHA → (after killing all trashes there) → Refreshing Path(Major Expedition & Shadow Barrier(Major Resolve) )  (main bar loop)

If you need to stealth, swap to a back bar and validate Night Terror. Backbar setup is for 1vs1 assassin. Critical-guaranteed Merciless Resolve can one-shot some enemies. HA(if Ambush's Empower is still valid), Concealed Weapon are also okay.

For being in town and Heist, you'd better create a skill profile to overwrite Sated Fury (criminal act) to Accelerate which can Major Expedition keeping stealth.

WB(One Bar 2H)

Soul Harvest or Merciless Resolve or HA when HP above 50%, and spam Killer's blade when HP below 50%.

Kill at least one adds every 10 seconds to gain 28k Pelinal shield.

need 2 inventory slot.(Oaken ring, 1 monster shoulder)

WB(One Bar FrostStaff)

If there is no adds, you can't gain Pelinal shield.

Crouching HA is a safe way but less dps.

You can easily defeat normal battle style WB by FrostStaff even if it's stronger one, such as  Ri'Atahrashi's Training Ground.

AddOn(Champion Slot Swap & Confirm)

Thief toon like this must change their thief's champion slots more frequently than other solo builds and dps. because each different tasks(1. Gatherer 2. PickPocketing 3. Normal battle 4. Furnishing 5. Fishing etc) requires each different champion slots. I cannot recommend manually swapping.

It's time to use addons. For instance, The below addon can load pre-profiled champion slots very quickly.

A side effect of the convenience is an inconvenience of confirming current champion slots. Especially at crafting stations.

Without Meticulous Disassembly , we shouldn't refine gathered materials and deconstruct armors. I had often failed to do it.

So, I developed an addon which displays craft skill levels and cp(Whether Meticulous Disassembly is slotted or not) and warns if not max skill level at crafting stations.
