The bear is slotted for the critical damage on front bar, and the recovery on back bar. Do not summon it if you want the best results as it received a pretty hefty nerf with shattered paths signet. You could also slot dawnbreaker on the front bar for a small damage buff, but keep the bear back at for the recovery passive. This was designed to use ice knife as the main spammable while still being able to sustain fairly well.
