U50 Deathscale
Welcome to @KaiRosenthal's RP/Solo Stamina Dragonknight Build titled "Deathscale"!
Thank you for taking an interest in my build! It has been long overdue for me to update this build. My knowledge has improved, and so my goal for this build. It used to be purely for the RP with minimal considerations of actual fights, but now I'm ready to present to you a 'rework' of my Nightblade Argonian build!
This is my attempt on making a solo build using weapons, skills, and armors that I like but also make sense for my character, while also making him able to survive on his own. Contained in this guide section, you'll find what and how my reasoning and justification for the build, and also some alternatives that I hope is easy and simple enough to follow along.
The other setup for this build is just for archive purposes. It's not meant to be followed as it is severely outdated (U45).
I won't be providing the log for now as I've only done the testing in the PTS server. This also means that the numbers may change, depending on if there will be changes that will affect the build. However, I'm confident this will work just fine in the current live server (U49).
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Somewhat smooth rotation as most skills' durations are either 10 or 20 seconds.
- An alright amount of DPS, sitting at 46.8k DPS in U50 week 1 PTS.
Cons:
- Requires constant potion usage for resource sustain.
- Build dependent on
Ring of the Pale Order mythic. No issues in dungeons though, just swap it out.
Gears
> Why 1/6/0 instead of 1/5/1 or 0/7/0?
We want as much damage as possible, and medium armor's passives accommodates that. I also use one light armor piece just so we reach a 101% penetration cap for instanced content, boosting our damage even though we overcap slightly.
> Why
Order's Wrath and
Tide-Born Wildstalker?
Order's Wrath is the best set that boosts our damage. I use
Tide-Born Wildstalker because I'm bored with
Pillar of Nirn and want something else for a change lmao.
Some alternatives that I recommend are
Briarheart,
Hunding's Rage, or
Pillar of Nirn to replace either set.
Briarheart is now accessible for everyone from Wrothgar's overland in Orsinium DLC,
Hunding's Rage can be crafted from base game stations, and
Pillar of Nirn is from the Falkreath Hold dungeon. If you swap out
Tide-Born Wildstalker, change your dagger to mace! You can keep the enchantment the same.
For the back bar bow, you can absolutely go with
Thunderous Volley or
Perfected Thunderous Volley. I personally haven't got them unlocked, so putting another Order's Wrath will do.
> Why
Slimecraw?
One piece of
Slimecraw gives us more critical chance, which will increase our damage output. You don't have to use
Slimecraw, though; any other set that gives critical chance for its first piece will work just fine (i.e.
Iceheart and
Zaan), but
Slimecraw is by far the easiest to obtain for me.
Skills
Here are my skill selections, their brief explanations, as well as which slot I put them:
Front Bar:
Merciless Resolve: Major Savagery, Major Prophecy, a big damage and it heals us.
Surprise Attack: Our spammable that applies [Sundered], which applies Minor Breach.
Disintegrating Dragonfire: Major Breach and DoT. Also gives Minor Brutality thanks to the
Elder Dragon passive.
Avid Boneyard: DoT and gives us synergy to deal more damage. We use this morph because
Disintegrating Dragonfire already has Major Breach for us.
Deadly Cloak: AoE DoT that gives Major Evasion.
Soul Harvest: This slot is actually flexible; you can use any ult you want. I use this skill because of the low cost, which means we can use it frequently to help with our sustain from
The Storm Voice passive.
Back Bar:
Endless Hail: For your AoE DoT needs.
Soul Burst: AoE DoT that gives Minor Intellect and Minor Endurance.
Skeletal Archer: Major Brutality and Major Sorcery, also single target DoT.
Barbed Trap: Another single target DoT that gives Minor Force.
Resolving Vigor: Burst heal. Mainly used in rotation to upkeep Minor Resolve.
Soul Harvest: Slotted only for the ‘gain ult when you kill’ effect.
Rotation
I will assume that you can and will do light attack weaving, so that I don't have to write it down below.
- Start with your back bar:
Resolving Vigor >
Skeletal Archer >
Barbed Trap >
Soul Burst >
Endless Hail - Swap to front bar:
Disintegrating Dragonfire >
Avid Boneyard >
Deadly Cloak >
Merciless Resolve >
Surprise Attack - You can now spam
Surprise Attack. Hit
Merciless Resolve and
Soul Harvest whenever they're available. Reapply your DoTs when they run out. - Rinse and repeat!
Additional Information
Here are some additional information that you may also want to consider reading:
- Most of the time, I only use [Orzorga's Tripe Trifle Pocket] as I have lots of them, and also the Crown Tri-Restoration Potions (I have 3900 of them sitting in my bank). If you are doing harder contents, please refer to the Consumables section where you can pick and choose which one you need more!
- We don't need to use Lover mundus as our penetration is already capped. Therefore, we use Thief to further our critical chance instead.
Thank you!
As I said, it has been long overdue for me to update this build. I've been away from the game for a year, and I wanted to just focus on my favorite classes first (Dragonknight and Warden). But hey, here we are, with the build updated. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to let me know at @KaiRosenthal in-game.
See you around, and may the Hist guides you.
