STATS:

This build should have high Health and you Stamina resource should be larger than your Magicka.  I currently use all Attribute points in Health but if you need to increase your max Stamina, put up to 10 points into it. 

Divines on your gear is to help you increase your max Health due to using The Lord Mundus. If you dont have your Physical and Spell Resistance at the 33,100 cap, switch your Mundus to The Lady.

GEAR:

Turning Tide iconTurning Tide - Tanks like to use this set to Bash after they Block. Blocking grants the 'Flowing Water' buff which allows you to Debuff the enemy targets with Major Vulnerability with a Bash, for a period of 10 seconds. It might be good to set up an addon like S'rendarr to track when you have obtained this buff and when you should bash.

  • It's important for tanks to focus on Debuffing enemies with useful effects like reducing their armor, reducing how much damage they can do, or even increasing the amount of damage your party is doing to them.

Rush of Agony iconRush of Agony - This set's pulling effect will proc when the Brutal Pounce iconBrutal Pounce Werewolf skill. Simply pounce into a group of adds, and as long as the set isn't on cooldown, you will automatically pull the creatures around you into a small stack.

Archdruid Devyric iconArchdruid Devyric - Heavy attacking in between skills doesn't just grant you a ton of Stamina anymore! When you Heavy Attack an enemy this Monster Set will proc and apply Major Vulnerability in an AOE. 

  • The set Turning Tide iconTurning Tide also procs Major Vulnerability, and between this Monster Set and the armor pieces, you should be able to have a near 100% uptime on this debuff.

SKILLS: 

WEREWOLF SKILLS

These are the morphs of the skills that you should mainly be focusing on below. As a Pack Leader, it should be much easier to maintain your ultimate enough to stay transformed for long periods of time.

Brutal Pounce iconBrutal Pounce - This skill leaps onto a distant enemy in an AOE applying Hemorrhaging. This leap will activate your Rush of Agony iconRush of Agony gear, pulling in other enemies toward you and into a small stack. When you are in melee range, this skill becomes 'Brutal Carnage' which is a damage AOE in a cone in front of you, and the enemies under 100% health take up to 450% more damage.

  • A leap AOE attack is quite good at garnering the enemies initial attention, before the DPS can steal it. This skill is how you should open your combat.

Deafening Roar iconDeafening Roar - This is one of the best crowd control skills available! Your howl fears in an AOE, sets the enemies 'off balance', applies Major Cowardice, and also Major Maim to all those enemies. 

  • It also grants you a stack of 'Blood Hunger' which is a mechanic that matters for some of the other abilities for Werewolf. 
  • The synergy that this skill provides can be activated by 12 nearby people, that grants '6% damage done', Minor Force, and Minor Protection to all that use it.
  • Additionally, using this morph grants your Rip and Tear iconRip and Tear the ability to taunt as long as you are blocking.

Rip and Tear iconRip and Tear - While you are blocking, if you use this skill it will taunt the enemy target due to the usage of Deafening Roar iconDeafening Roar morph. 

  • On the initial hit, this skill applies Major Breach and [Sundered] (which applies Minor Breach for 4 seconds to the target, and increases your Weapon Damage and Spell Damage by 100 for 4 seconds.) These are two of a tank's greatest debuffs!
  • This will consume a stack of 'Blood Hunger' to increase the initial damage and healing done by 25%.

Bloodclaws iconBloodclaws - This skill applies a mediocre instant heal and a heal-over-time, based off of your max health. It also grants a stack of 'Blood 
Hunger' per enemy hit.

  • There is a 15% chance to apply [Sundered] to the target, while the lingering DOT has a 5% chance to apply Hemorrhaging as well.

Hircine's Fortitude iconHircine's Fortitude - This is the greatest heal you can use, healing for you a large portion scaling off of your max health. 

HOW NEW ULTIMATE WORKS

Blood Rage iconBlood Rage - This Passive increases the amount of Fury you generate by 10. Fury is generated by using Werewolf abilities while in combat. Once you have 1000, you gain access to the Rampage 'Ultimate,' which increases your damage done by 15%, Movement Speed by 20%, and removes the cost of all Werewolf abilities for 20 seconds.

THE ULTIMATE

Pack Leader iconPack Leader - This is why we are really here. Major Protection, 15% increased block mitigation, and Minor Courage to the party? Stamina Recovery increased by 15%? You also summon two direwolves to accompany you that attack enemies and cannot be targeted or killed. 

  • When the 'Enduring Rampage' activates, not only does it increase your damage done, increase your movement speed, and make you werewolf skills free for 20 seconds, but additionally it now also grants 4000 Health Recovery. You will feel very tanky!

 

DK- FRONT BAR

Despite being mainly a Werewolf Tank build, this set up below will allow you to continue tanking should you lose your transformation.

[Chains of Dominance] - This is your single-target pull and front bar taunt. This skill will trigger Rush of Agony iconRush of Agony to chain other enemies in the nearby area and also pull them into a stack.

Choking Talons iconChoking Talons - Once you have all the enemies in a pile, this skill will immobilize them all for 4 seconds and inflict them with Minor Maim. Good for crowd controlling the mobs, preventing them from moving while the dps burn them down.

[Leashing Burst] - This scribing skill will send out a circle around you that lasts for about 2-3 seconds before the circle implodes on you, pulling everything that was inside the circle towards you in a nice little stack. Use this for additional help stacking mobs for the dps.

  • The scribing effects included in this skill are, 'Pull' to do the above desired effect, and 'Anchorite's Potency' to consumes a Soul Gem in combat to generate 3 Ultimate, up to once every 5 seconds. This skill will give additional ultimate generation at the cost of soul gems, which will drain the soul gems rather quick. They're cheap, but keep a hefty stack on you!
  • It also grants Minor Expedition to you for 20 seconds, which can be useful to aid with your positioning. Due to your use of the [Bracing Anchor] passive in your CP tree, you'll lose a good chunk of movement speed, so a small burst should be helpful.

Defensive Stance iconDefensive Stance - While this is on your bar and you have a shield equipped, you reduce the cost of blocking by 10% and you increase the amount of damage you can block by 10%. As if this wasn't enough, this skill also grants you a damage shield that scales off of your max Health, and it less importantly reflects the next projectile fired at you. 

Blood of the Green Dragon iconBlood of the Green Dragon - This is your best non-werewolf emergency heal, granting you Major Endurance, Major Fortitude, and Minor Vitality in addition to healing you scaling off of your max health.

 

DK- BACK BAR

[Warding Contingency] - This scribing skill combines 'Damage Shield', 'Gladiator's Tenacity' reduces damage taken by 8% for 6 seconds, and 'Protection' which grants [Minor Protection to yourself and your allies for 20 seconds. This is something that should be used every 20 seconds, or you can 'combo it' with Resolving Vigor iconResolving Vigor to help mitigate heavy incoming damage.

  • This scribing skill doesn't cast as soon as you activate it, but instead it triggers to activate when you cast your second skill afterward. The delayed casting can result in some fun combinations of effects.

Pierce Armor iconPierce Armor - This is your melee, bread and butter taunt. It afflicts the enemy with Major Breach and Minor Breach which reduces the target's Physical and Spell resistance, each seperately. 

Elemental Blockade iconElemental Blockade - Activating this skill will snare enemies, reduce armor of Chilled enemies, and will grant Damage Shields, because you have an Ice Staff equipped. Additionally, this will help trigger your enchantment on your weapon.

  • By wearing an ice staff on your backbar, you gain access to the Destruction Staff passives (while you not transformed.) 
  • Because of Tri Focus iconTri Focus, your ice staff will grant you a damage shield when you heavy attack with it, and blocking costs Magicka instead of Stamina. In a pinch, if you somehow run out of Stamina and you are taking severe damage, you can switch to your Ice Staff and hold block to drain your Magicka instead to mitigate incoming damage. Use this time to let your potion return for that much needed Stamina.
  • Ancient Knowledge iconAncient Knowledge is another passive that reduces the cost of blocking by a whopping 36% while an Ice staff is equipped, and increases the amount of damage you can block by 20%.

Earthshield Mantle iconEarthshield Mantle - Grants you Major Resolve for 20 seconds. The Damage Shield that scales off of you max health is nice, but we are really here for that sweet extra Physical and Spell Resistance. Use on cooldown.

Resolving Vigor iconResolving Vigor - A good heal over time to be sure, and it casts for stamina. However the best thing about this skill is the Minor Resolve it grants you for 20 seconds. Follow up your Earthshield Mantle iconEarthshield Mantle with this on cooldown to keep up both buffs.

Consumables

Bewitched Sugar Skulls iconBewitched Sugar Skulls are my current go-to for the stat increases, though Longfin Pasty with Melon Sauce iconLongfin Pasty with Melon Sauce is also decent.  Neither are too expensive, but if you are looking to craft them, the Longfin Pasty with Melon Sauce iconLongfin Pasty with Melon Sauce doesn't require Columbine.

[Essence of Health] or Tri-Stat Restoration Potions are more than capable of being enough to help when tanking.

  • You can use [Essence of Magicka] (Magicka/Stamina/Minor Heroism) as well to help gain faster Ultimate when you are not transformed, and to maintain a certain level of Ultimate while in Werewolf Transformation.

Passive Honorable Mentions
Nord Racial Passives
Stalwart- Increase max stamina by 1500. When you take damage, gain 5 ultimate every 10 seconds.

Rugged- Increases physical and spell resistance by 2600.

Dragonknight Passives
A Soul Ablaze- Increases healing taken by 8%.

Burnished Scales- Increases how much damage you can block by 10%.

Landslide-  Dealing damage grants landslide stacks, increasing damage by 1% up to 10 times, once every 5 seconds. You lose a stack every 2 sec when not dealing damage.

Dragonknight Class Masteries
Inexorable Descent- Landslide now also increases the potency of your damage, healing done, and damage shield strength by 1% per stack.

Resolute Defense- Each second you remain bracing, increase the amount of damage you can block by 6% up to 5 times. Blocking damage has 20% chance to restore 500 stamina, but it can only occur once each block cost.

Feral Cruelty- While you are in Werewolf form, this increases you weapon and spell damge by 25% (10% against targets with battle spirit). Also grants Major Resolve!
