Night Market

Overview

The Night Market is a valuable trade hub for all manner of goods both worldly and Daedric. It is a section within Fargrave's interplanar bazaar that only opens for a short time, where rival factions vie for control and enlist the aid of travelers.

While the Night Market is active you may travel there and learn about the different factions, join one for the duration, and complete a variety of quests and activities to grow your faction's favor. Earn faction unique rewards as you ascend the ranks.

Night Market Access

To enter the Night Market, use the Starlit Plaza Wayshrine or travel to Fargrave and find The Curator within the Shambles. This mysterious figure will guide you through a portal which takes you into the Starlit Plaza at the heart of the Night Market. You may also begin the Night Market event via the Crown Store under Quest Starters > Events and select the quest called "Those Who Would Rule".

Factions and Patrons

There are three competing factions vying for recognition in Night Market, each with a different patron in charge, each hoping to prove that their members have what it takes to succeed in the dangerous market districts.

The Ruckus are a faction of mortals who recently rose to prominence. They're scrappy underdogs who respect strength and seek to disrupt the Daedric supremacy of the market. The imposing Senche-raht Kharakhal Moon-Eye is their patron, and rules over the Ruckus with an iron fist. He rose through the ranks of the Ruckus through strength, determination, and a small side of murder. He recruits those with outward strength and maintains control through force of will.

The Thousand Eyes is a faction nearly as old as the Night Market itself. It is comprised of the small, the skittering, the insignificant but in those numbers, great power. They banded together to blunt the strength of other factions by seeking knowledge in the crevices and information in overheard conversations. Their patron Molto the Whisperer, is a small Daedrat who lives among the unwashed denizens of the market. Melandir is a shy Maormer who translates Molto's wishes to anyone seeking an audience with the venerable Daedrat.

The Glittering Goad gets its name from the amassed wealth of the faction. They are a meritocracy, believing anyone has a chance to make it big in the Night Market, provided they pay for the privilege. Their patron Tachien, is a Dremora of lavish tastes who prefers to rest on her throne and bask in the glory of the celebration she organized. She's invested in the goings-on of the Night Market, but oversees far too much to journey into the districts herself.

Choosing a Faction

After speaking with the 3 patrons, you may choose a faction to join. This choice will be account-wide and you are unable to change your faction for the duration of the event. You may join a different faction only once the Night Market re-emerges and a new season begins.

Each faction will offer different daily quests and events, which you may complete to earn favor with your faction. Growing your faction's favor yields greater rewards.

Events

The Night Market has a variety of repeatable events and challenges that grant you favor with your chosen faction:

• Faction patrons offer daily quests.
• Look for repeatable discoverable quests in the districts.
• Rare monsters, called Faceted, drop treasure and rare loot.
• Daring Races challenge you to race through checkpoints while avoiding danger.
• Oddities, puzzles that often require the aid of others to solve, abound.

Several events are noted on your map:

• Skirmish events in the districts spawn periodically. Check your faction scoreboard to see when the next one will occur.
• And watch out for those wandering Calamitous bosses!

Bosses

Within the Night Market, explorers can encounter a series of bosses. You can identify bosses based on the keywords (below) in their names.

Each of the three districts contains the following boss types.

There are four Brazen bosses per district, split into pairs that report to an Argent boss. Brazen bosses exert a small amount of influence on the enemies near them, altering and adding to the fights around them.

Argent bosses appear after the district's two corresponding Brazen bosses are defeated. Argent bosses exert a larger amount of influence on the surrounding area, altering and adding to the minor enemies near their arenas. There are two Argents per district. Killing the Argent gives a player a gilded key fragment which will combine to create a gilded key.

Each district has specialized instance in which four players fight the powerful Gilded boss. To reach the Gilded boss, players must collect both gilded keys fragments from the district by defeating the Argents, plus collect the district's relic. Upon defeating the Gilded, the gilded keys are consumed, granting a Opulent key fragment which will combine to create an opulent key. Navigate to your Boss UI menu to find these keys.

Players must have all three Opulent key fragments, one from each Gilded boss, to face the Opulent bosses in the Opulent Ordeal, a brand-new trial encounter to test your coordination and skill. This fight is the culmination of the Night Market for those who have bested its other challenges. Opulent keys are consumed after the trio of Opulent Bosses are defeated. They can be reacquired from defeating the Gilded bosses once more.

Faction Favor

Completing quests and events in the Night Market earns you Favor with your faction. You can view your current favor while in the Night Market by pressing F5 to show the faction screen.

The more faction favor you gain, the better the rewards are available for purchase at each faction vendor. You can find the faction vendors in the Starlit Plaza, marked on the map by the Faction Vendor Icon

Tonic of Portent Favor

The recipe called the Tonic of Portent Favor grants a 100% faction favor bonus for all enemy and district event sources for 30 minutes.

Players can find one of three fragments depending on the faction to which you pledge your allegiance:

• Recipe: Tonic of Portent Favor, Eyes Fragment
• Recipe: Tonic of Portent Favor, Goad Fragment
• Recipe: Tonic of Portent Favor, Ruckus Fragment

This recipe requires three new ingredients:

• Portent of Curiosity: Dropping for Thousand Eye faction players
• Portent of Survival: Dropping for Ruckus faction players
• Portent of Wealth: Dropping for Glittering Goad faction players

You can consume this tonic with active experience scrolls/drinks, Alliance Point bonuses, and regular food and drink.

Maximizing the ranks you have in the Provisioning passive Connoisseur increases this tonic's duration to 50 minutes, and maximizing the Brewer passive increases the number of servings crafted from 1 to 4.

Relics

Within the Night Market you may occasionally come across Relic Splinters. You can collect these from mob and boss drops until you amass 10 splinters of a specific relic. A detailed list of where you can find all splinters is listed in the achievements below. After you collect 10 splinters, you receive a completed relic. Each relic unlocks a permanent effect that allows you to reach previously inaccessible areas within each district.

• Egg of Arac, found in the Skittering Precinct, allows you to grapple your way through that district. The memento is awarded from the Relic Gauntlet Bearer achievement.
• Gleaming Lamp, found in the Sorrow's Friend district, is capable of casting enough light to keep the hungering Baleful Darkness at bay. The memento is awarded from the Relic Gloom Warder achievement.
• Windglass, found in the Parch district, keeps the sandstorms and cascading walls of sand from blocking your path while exploring the Parch. The memento is awarded from the Relic Wind Slicer achievement.

You can also place completed relics in your house within the Night Market to unlock new wings of the Night's Den house.

Night's Den

The Night Market provides vast opportunities, including a former bank vault in need of a new owner. Hoard your wealth—and your faction's secrets—inside. Plus decorate your den with faction furnishings as you gain favor with your chosen group!

This notable home also contains unique functionality that you unlock as you complete quests and overcome challenges in the Night Market:

• Unlock three expandable wings by using a district relic. After you have acquired a district relic, place it on a glowing pedestal to gain access to a faction-themed room.
• You can display faction banners in the home's courtyard after gaining 1,000 favor with your faction. Please note that you choose a faction each time the Night Market returns, so if you wish to gain all faction banner options, pick a new faction to join until you've worked with them all.
• A bank safe, located in the back of the home, allows you to access your personal and guild bank after you have acquired 5,000 faction favor.
• Also enjoy a currency vault that dynamically displays the amount of gold you currently have banked. As you earn more gold, more shows up inside the vault. As you spend gold, less gold appears inside the vault.
