The Elder Scrolls Online is entering a transformative era. In 2026, ZeniMax Online Studios is moving away from the yearly Content Pass model to launch a Seasonal structure designed to prioritize player feedback and modernization.

Season Zero: Spring to Summer

Update 49 releases on March 9th on all platforms (PC and Console) at the same time, Gold Coast Bazaar is added to the game on March 25. Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk will officially kick off on April 2 bringing the First Tamriel Tome with it.

  1. Classes & Combat: Comprehensive visual refresh and balance updates for the Dragonknight Class and Werewolf skill line.
  2. Group Event Zone: The Night Market: A new social and combat hub designed for large-scale group cooperation and unique rewards. Night Market Page
  3. Battle Pass like System introduced: Tamriel Tomes: A tiered progression system featuring Free, Paid, and Premium tracks to earn cosmetics and utility items. Tamriel Tomes page.
  4. Earnable Rewards: The Gold Coast Bazaar: A seasonal storefront featuring a shifting inventory of returning Crown Store items and rare collectibles. Gold Coast Bazaar page.
  5. PVP Progression System: A complete modernization of how players advance and earn rewards within Alliance War and Battlegrounds.
  6. New Overland Difficulty: Challenge Difficulty: A highly requested feature allowing players to increase the difficulty of world content for a more dangerous experience.
  7. Player Experience Improvements: Account-wide outfit slots. Free skill and attribute respecs directly within the UI. Back bar XP gains and more!
  8. Base Game Additions: Orsinium, Thieves GuildDark Brotherhood and Imperial City are now permanently included with the base game for all players.

Season One: Summer to Autumn

Season one brings the following content:

  1. New Stories & Quests: A new narrative arc featuring the Mad God, Sheogorath, and the Thieves Guild.
  2. New System: Sage's Vault: Sages Vault System Page.
  3. Multi-Stage Cooperative Events: Dynamic World Events: Emergent gameplay that requires community cooperation across multiple stages.
  4. New In-Game Event: High Seas of Tamriel
  5. New Trial: Crimson Veldt
  6. Classes & Combat: Visual refresh and balance updates for the Warden Class.
  7. Player Experience Improvements: Additional quality-of-life features (Details to be announced).

Season Two: Autumn to Winter

Season Two brings the following content:

  1. Classes & Combat: Visual refresh and balance updates for the Sorcerer Class.
  2. Player Experience Improvements: Additional quality-of-life features (Details to be announced).
  3. Group Event Zone: The Night Market Returns Night Market Page
  4. Solo Dungeons: The introduction of "Story Mode" for Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices, allowing players to experience these narratives solo.
  5. Large-Scale World Events: Dynamic Storms in Skyrim: A new environmental threat system that transforms the landscape and gameplay in the Skyrim zones.
  6. Base Game Addition: The Greymoor Chapter is officially added to the base game, opening up Western Skyrim and the Antiquities system to all players.

A New Content Philosophy

The transition to seasons is described by the developers as a move from a rigid, 18-month "formula" to a living plan that can be adjusted in real-time based on what players actually want to experience in Tamriel. All seasonal content released is free, with only the Tamriel Tomes premium tiers requiring a purchase.
