Guide

Build Explaination

Welcome to my Dragonknight PvE stamina DPS build! This build is designed to maximize the damage from specialty sets, running one mythic and two arena weapons.

Previously, this build used Stone Giant as the main spammable. You can still run that, with either whip or Twin Slashes in the #4 FB, but it's really hard on sustain in the latest patch.

This build gives high damage and is suitable for four man and trial content. Without any further ado, let's dive into the abilities.

Frontbar

  1. Molten Whip: this is your primary spammable.  If you prefer, you can run Rapid Strikes, but it will have lower damage.
  2. Deadly Cloak: keep this up for the Spectral Cloak set to have a 6% damage increase to all damage sources.
  3. Noxious Breath: this buffs your Whip, debuffs the enemy, and applies a poison DOT.
  4. Stone Giant: this is your secondary spammable. Use this as needed to keep up the stagger bonus. Alternately, you can run Twin Slashes here. It's easier on sustain, and they do about the same damage.
  5. Whirring Blades: execute. Drop Whip and use when your enemies are below 25% health.

Backbar

  1. Poison Arrow: this is a great single target DOT, and it boosts your damage in execute.
  2. Endless Hail: This procs the Maelstrom Bow and does some nice AOE damage.
  3. Venomous Claw: another very strong DOT. Avoid casting it until right before it expires, if you can, as the damage increases each tic.
  4. Barbed Trap: procs minor force, very important.
  5. Flames of Oblivion: this is a flex spot. If you don't have a good healer in your group, you can slot Vigor or Coagulating Blood here.

Gear:

Selene: a strong monster set option, but Kjalnar and Stonefist are also good.

Relequen: the premiere stamina DPS set. You could substitute Coral Riptide if that's more your style.

Kilt: Currently, this is the strongest mythic item for PvE DPS. If you want, you can substitute Death Dealer's Fete.

Berserking Warrior: Any set that gives a 2 piece crit bonus will do here. For the Berserking Warrior build, it gives a nice crit stack.

Beginner gear: Leviathan is the stamina equivalent of Mother's Sorrow. Tzogvin procs minor force, eliminating the need to run Trap. Both aren't too hard to farm. Alternately, Hunding's Rage is a decent set that's craftable, and Briarheart is a good overland set for stam DPS.

Spectral Cloak: Gives you a 6% reduction to damage taken and increase to damage done as long as Blade Cloak is active.

Maelstrom Bow: With the latest patch, the Maelstrom bow is slightly stronger than the greatsword, but both give respectable parses. If you want to run the 2 hander, swap the bow backbar abilites for Carve and Stampede.

One quick note on perfected gear: the perfected spectral cloak is worth it if you can run vBRP. The perfected Relequen is nice, but it won't make or break the build. Same for the Perfected Maelstrom Bow.

If you're running the Maelstrom two hand, the greatsword is more important than a perfected weapon, due to the Heavy Weapons passive. I can hit max penetration with this build without a perfected Maelstrom weapon, making the perfected bonus redundant. Run non-perfected greatsword over perfected maul or axe, if you have it.
