Guide

Build Explaination

Please read my thoughts to help you understand how i pull this build together .

About DK : Despite many updates , If you look into its class abilites , you would find currently it still major in melee combat , because its dot ablities are not ranged ( within 10meters , mostly 6-7 meters) . So if we would to take advange of dk's dot damage , we have to base our build on melee main-hand. that's why i excluded bows and destruction staff . i chose dual wield.

I want it to crits as much as possible  ( but it would simply be stupid to stack crit chance  only  , so forget about Order's wrath or Nightmother's Sorrow or Levetan or Medusa , you need your gear to give you extra proc damage , whether it is one-shot triggered or Damage over Time)

In fact , you only need your crit chance to reach near 50% , meaning you will crit every 2 hit.

About Tarnished Knighmare: this new set has recently been very popular as we know , espeically in pvp . It provides 9% crit chance and a proc that deals 5k physical damage AOE ( 8 meters & apllies sundered effect ( minor breach to all targets hit by the shard) . I have tested this out many times ,on adds, mobs of dungeons . Very effective. Once triggered, you hear the sound of shattered shards bursts. 8secs cooldown , not fast pace but decent.

About Venous Smite : This set used to be so good until it was nerfed 2 years agao with halved damage . I Chose it because i want my target have a decent extra dot . The funny thing is  you may regard the Proc of Venomous Smite as a TOXIC DOT version of Way of Fire Set . i have made detail comparison between them . Way of fire Set gives you 3000-3500 fire damage when you trigger it with LA or weapon skillline , the cool down is 2 seconds , while Venomous Smite grants 3000- 3500 poison dots every 2 seconds  over 10 seconds with a total of 5 ticks . Way of Fire is more PVP for single target .  Venous Smite proc can spread within 6m radius , more suita ble for crowds of  monsters in dungeons, caves or on map .

One weakness of Venousmite is , the inightal target on which you put Hunter's Venom has to stay alive in order for the dot to exist so it can keep damaging other target over the next 10secs . So if the target with Hunter's Venom die too quickly , the dot ends too early . With that being said , in vet deungeons , Venou Smite is much more fufilling its intended purpose becuase monsters have much higher health .

A few mentioned about Nirn Pillar . Well , 3000-3500 bleed damage + 10k dot damage over 10 secs. that's 13k in 10 secs and venomous Smite deals 3k * 5 =15k in 10secs . but it has longer cooldown of 15 secs. So depending on the situation . you may replace VS with NPillar.

Total Crit Chance of this build : 9% from Tarnished Nightmare and 6% from Venomous Smite , Two daggers grant you 6% ( dual wield passives) one of them traited precise ( 3%) .  9+6+6+3= 24% . Every character has 10% base chance and any Dk has the class ability named “ Flame obvilion ” when slotted on either bar , you get 12%  crit chance (major prophecy and savagery ). 24+ 10%+12% =46%

Last part , about sustain ! As you may notice , i use 3 stam recovery glyphs and tri-stat trait . You may alter them  like blood thirsty and increase damage glyph . but be reminded that even in pve , resource management cannot be ignored . same goes to mundus stone ,. you can change it to damage related stones such as penetration (lover stone) or warrior , but not thief stone bcause 50% crits is enough already

When fully buffed , my dk has 3.1 k armor and 30k health , 1800 stamrecovery and 1500 magika recovery( WITHOUT taking POTIONs , otherwise 2000+ )

Combat mode : Start on your back bar ( press 20% damage buff ) then switch to frontbar and press spetral cloak ( prebuffed dots) , when approaching your targets , first you use Noxious Breath to apply major breach and a poison dot , in the meantime, by doing so you would trigger tarnished nightmare and Venomous Smite Proc . Then keep whipping your enemy . If your target is a boss , you can use poison claw to add more dots.
