The West Weald is an overland zone added to ESO with the Gold Road Chapter.
In West Weald, players will encounter a variety of different landscapes.
The southeastern area is home to the city of Skingrad, not seen in an Elder Scrolls game since TES IV: Oblivion. Here you can also find the Gold Road. This area has a temperate climate and is fairly similar to the Gold Coast.
In the southwest, you can find the Dawnwood area, a region that was formerly controlled by the Imperials but is now being overrun by the encroaching jungles of Valenwood.
In between the Danwood and Gold Road, you can find the Wildburn. The Wildburn is a sickened, twisted landscape where you can find dangerous beasts warped by magic.
The northern areas of West Weald is home to the Colovian Highlands, a mountainous region where you will find many Ayleid ruins, as well as an Imperial settlement. These Ayleid ruins are in better condition than most other such sites found throughout Tamriel, and you will be able to see structures and an insight into Ayleid culture not found elsewhere.
Mirrormoor Incursions
Mirrormoor Incursions are a new world event that will take place in several locations of the West Weald. They are similar to Dolmens found in the base-game regions of ESO - here you will repel waves of Daedra who are attempting to invade the region. Completing these events will yield loot and some XP.
New Rewards in West Weald
The Gold Road chapter will contain 10 new item sets for players to obtain. It is expected that some of these sets can be looted in West Weald from monsters, bosses, quest rewards and treasure chests, others will be craftable in specific locations within West Weald, and the remaining sets will be obtainable in the new trial, Lucent Citadel.
There will also be new Mythic items to find, as well as 22 new Skill Styles, allowing you to change the appearance of various Weapon, World and Guild skills.
