With the new chapter "Gold Road" in ESO, a whole new way of changing your skills, creating new exciting builds, and further individualizing your playstyle will be brought into the game. In addition, there will be another interesting way of customizing your skills. Besides the new Scribing system, Update 42 will also introduce the so-called Skill Styling.
Through Skill Styles, the appearance of a skill of a specific skill line can be changed. For this, according to Kira Ross Schlitt (Project Lead, ESO), a number of selected styles will be available, which will allow you to change the color appearances of the skills. This should be possible for all weapon, guild and world skills.
We will add all styles to our Skill Styling Overview Page once we get access to the public test server.
For example, the Wall of Elements as a skill of the Destruction Staff can be dyed purple or the Trap Beast orange or the Magelight can be turned into a greenish appearance. When the ability is equipped, you will be able to select which version you want to use.
All these style variants will be implemented in the game as in-game rewards. So we can assume that some color variants will have to be unlocked by completing achievements. More details are not yet known, but will follow in the coming months. Additionally, after the release of Gold Road, more new Skill Styles will follow in further updates and be added to the game. Therefore, we can assume that this new possibility of customization will be further expanded and offer us diverse possibilities.
The new chapter “Gold Road” can be pre-ordered now on the common platforms and will be released for PC on June 3 and for consoles on June 18.
