The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is the new 2024 Chapter that will launch for PC on June 03 and for Console on June 18. Additionally, we also get a Q1 Dungeon DLC with two new dungeons.
ESO's Gold Road Chapter Content Overview
The Gold Road won't offer a new class this year. However, there is a new system called "Scribing" which is often described as a precursor to Spellcrafting! Like always, we do get a new zone called West Weald, a new Trial called Lucent Citadel, World Events, New Delves and so on.

West Weald Zone
The Gold Road Chapter takes place in a new zone called West Weald. West Weald is located between Cyrodiil, Gold Coast, Reaper's March, and Craglorn. We will add West Weald to our Interactive ESO Map once the test server becomes available for Gold Road in April.
The main hub city is called Skingrad!
New Trial Lucent Citadel
Like with any new chapter you will also experience a new trial called Lucent Citadel. It will be a 12-player Trial.
New System Scribing "Precursor to Spellcrafting"
We are also getting a new system called Scribing. Fictionally, Scribing is a precursor to what would eventually become Spell Crafting 1000 years in the future. One of the big goals of the Scribing system in ESO is to give players more choices in the customization of their skills.
We are going to add a Scribing Page on ESO-Hub.com where players can simulate skills once we get access to the Public Test Server of the Chapter.
With Scribing you can collect and customize skills to improve your ESO Builds.
Players can collect and customize unique skills with which they can edit their primary, secondary and tertiary effects. When Scribing launches it will focus on the Weapon Skill lines and Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, Soul Magic, Assault and Support Skill lines.
The Gold Road Chapter will focus on these skill lines because everyone can utilize these, they aren't class-specific. Therefore it is likely that we are going to see editable skills from Class Skill lines later.
Each of the Skill lines mentioned above will have at least one unique unlockable Skill that you can customize with the Scribing system in the Gold Road Chapter of ESO. There are a total of 3 major resources in Scribing:
- Grimoire: Core of the Skill that doesn't change
- Scripts: 3 Script slots per Grimoire
- Inks: Reagent to change/Scribe a Skill
The Grimoire is the core of the new Skill that never changes. Then you have three Script Slots per Grimoire that allows you to edit and change characteristics of the Skill such as heal/damage, buffs/debuffs and so on. Lastly, you have Inks that are consumable reagents to change or scribe the Skill.
Styling System - Skills Transmog coming to ESO
That isn't everything! Additionally, ESO's Gold Road Chapter will also introduce Styling as part of the Scribing system. Styling allows you to change the looks of a Skills visual FX. For example, you can turn Wall of Elements into a purple color! There will be 22 styles at launch, all of them are unlockable and earned in-game.
