Will the Turning Tide Set be Obsolete in the Next ESO Patch?
There is a new set being added in Lost Depths that may make Turning Tide obsolete.

Earlier this year in the Ascending Tide DLC, the Turning Tide set was added to the game. This set pretty much immediately found its way into the meta for tanks, due to its ability to easily apply a decent uptime of Major Vulnerability to enemies , a powerful debuff that was previously only sourced from the Necromancer skill Frozen Colossus and its morphs.
However in the upcoming Lost Depths DLC, there is a new set found in the Earthen Root Enclave dungeon that threatens to make Turning Tide obsolete only six months after it first made an appearance in the game.
Archdruid Devyric Set in ESO
Archdruid Devyric is the monster set in the new Earthen Root Enclave dungeon. The helmet will drop from the final boss of the dungeon, and the shoulders are obtainable by spending Undaunted Keys at an Undaunted Enclave. This new monster set will deal shock damage and apply Major Vulnerability in a cone-shaped AOE 1.2 seconds after you heavy attack an enemy, lasting for 7 seconds with a 15 second cooldown.
The set threatens to replace Turning Tide in the meta because it basically does the same thing while only taking up two gear slots rather than five. The upside of Turning Tide is that the debuff lasts for 10 seconds rather than 7 seconds, however this does not matter too much in optimized groups because people are using Nazaray to massively extend the duration of Major Vulnerability anyway.

This new set, if it is not changed by the time it goes Live, will certainly offer more flexibility and build options for groups wanting to maximise their Major Vulnerability uptime. Personally I think it will be better to run Archdruid Devyric rather than Turning Tide, as it basically opens up another 5-piece support set slot for the group, but time will tell if players agree with me or not.
If you are a tank and you are not running in an optimized group, then you might want to stick with Turning Tide, because it is very good in combination with Nazaray, and you can boost your group quite a lot by using this combination to be a Major Vulnerability machine.
We hope you enjoyed this article about the Archdruid Devyric set in ESO. The Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online game (MMO) developed by Zenimax Online Studios.
