Rampaging Slayer, U49
As the Anchors fall from the skies, the predator found himself suddenly surrounded by easy preys. Blessed by the Beast Prince, a lone khajiit harnessed his inner rage, combining it with his draconic and martial prowess, and has turned the global crisis into his hunting ground.
Welcome!
Welcome to @KaiRosenthal's RP/Solo Stamina Dragonknight Build!
Thank you for taking an interest in my build! I just got back to the game after a year of playing another game, so I got some catching up to do. Last year, I was planning on making a subclass build variant for my DK but after I got back to the game and run some tests, pure DK works better for this build, at least. Also because I love pure DK.
This is my attempt on making a solo build using weapons, skills, and armors that I like but also make sense for my character, while also making him able to survive on his own. Contained in this guide section, you'll find what and how my reasoning and justification for the build, and also some alternatives that I hope is easy and simple enough to follow along.
With that being said, I hereby present to you, Rampaging Slayer!
Gears
> Why 1/6/0 instead of 1/5/1 or 0/7/0?
We want as much damage as possible, and medium armor's passives accommodates that. I also use one light armor piece just so we reach a 75% penetration cap for instanced content, boosting our damage without overcapping on penetration, nor invest too little in penetration when we do solo arenas.
> Why
Pillar of Nirn and
Order's Wrath?
Pillar of Nirn is simply just an awesome set to have anywhere, doubly so as it gives a fitting attack visually for this build's theme. As for
Order's Wrath, we'll use it up until we get the fourth bonus, because I prefer to have my monster set 2 pieces bonus active as well as a goated mythic ring that we'll get into below.
If you want to use other sets, I recommend
Hunding's Rage to replace
Pillar of Nirn, and/or
Briarheart to replace
Order's Wrath (again, up until the fourth piece). With Orsinium DLC now available, everyone can get
Briarheart from Wrothgar's overland, while
Hunding's Rage can be crafted from base game stations.
For the back bar bow, you can absolutely go with
Thunderous Volley or
Perfected Thunderous Volley. I personally haven't got them unlocked, so putting another
Order's Wrath will do.
> Why
Stormfist?
Mechanically, it's a nice set that gives us yet another damage source. Thematically, I justify using this for its fist aspect, leaning more to my character's brutish tendencies.
Some alternatives that you can try as well are
Slimecraw for more critical chance and Minor Berserk buff,
Bloodspawn for more ultimate generation, or
Iceheart if you prefer a more defensive set at the cost of immersion.
> Why
Ring of the Pale Order?
The goated accessory I mentioned earlier above.
Ring of the Pale Order gives us huge survivability by allowing our damages to heal us. I personally think it's worth it to sacrifice the fifth set bonus of either
Order's Wrath or
Briarheart. However, you should keep a backup ring, be it from the set above or another mythic that is not Oakensoul (duh) whenever you need to do group content.
Skills
Here are my skill selections, their brief effect and use, as well as which slots they occupy:
Front Bar
Deadly Cloak: AoE DoT that gives Major Evasion.
Magma Fist: The spammable skill. Make sure to always keep 3 stacks of Heat Shock as you only have 6 seconds before it resets.
Disintegrating Dragonfire: AoE DoT and Major Breach.
Burning Embers: DoT but also HoT that uses magicka, which is good for our sustain and survivability.
Heart of Flame: AoE, HoT, and gives you stamina and magicka. This skill is packed.
Flawless Dawnbreaker: A bar buffer that we can use on enemies. Highly recommend to use off-cooldown instead of the other one below. Restores resources via our [Battle Roar] passive.
Back Bar
Shatterspike Mantle: Major Resolve and DoT. If you need more survivability, you can use
Earthshield Mantle instead.
Barbed Trap: Bar buffer (though not needed), DoT, and also gives Minor Force.
Endless Hail: Good ol' AoE DoT.
Incinerate: AoE DoT that gives Major Savagery and Major Prophecy.
Igneous Weapons: Major Brutality and Major Sorcery. We use this morph because the other one requires constant application, which drains our already small pool of magicka. Not a fan of it changing my weapons' looks, though.
Standard of Might: An ultimate that buffs you by increasing damage dealt, reducing your damage taken, and debuffs enemies by increasing their damage taken. Restores resources via our [Battle Roar] passive.
Fashion
Here are the stuffs I wear for my Khajiit's outfit!
Hide Helmet

Crimson Oath Jerkin [Thalmor Black / Obsidian Black / Coldharbour Ash Black]
Crimson Oath Gauntlets [Coldharbour Ash Black / Obsidian Red / Daedric Red]
Crimson Oath Belt [Obsidian Black]
Waking Flame Guards [Coldharbour Ash Black / Daedric Red]
Crimson Oath Shoes [Coldharbour Ash Black / Obsidian Black / Thalmor Black]
Crimson Oath Dagger [Obsidian Black / Coldharbour Ash Black / Daedric Red]
Arkthzand Armory Bow [Volunteer's Iron / Coldharbour Ash Black / Ayleid Gold]
Rotation
I will assume that you can and will do light attack weaving, so that I don't have to write it down below.
Since the build is mostly DoTs, we want to basically apply all of our DoT attacks and then spam
Magma Fist. Don't forget to reapply DoTs as they run out!
- Start with your back bar:
Igneous Weapons >
Shatterspike Mantle >
Barbed Trap >
Endless Hail >
Incinerate - Swap to front bar:
Blade Cloak >
Heart of Flame >
Disintegrating Dragonfire >
Burning Embers >
Magma Fist - You can now spam
Magma Fist, but remember, you need to refresh all of the DoTs above when they ticked off. - Use
Heart of Flame every third or fourth skill use as long as it doesn't overlap with itself, as it gives magicka and stamina back to us, helping our sustain. - Use your ultimate skills to both do damage and sustain yourself! I recommend to stick with
Flawless Dawnbreaker for its cheap ult and quick resource regen, although
Standard of Might is generally better in terms of damage. - Rinse and repeat!
Additional Information
You've made it this far, congratulations! Here are some more reading for you, for more bits of extra knowledge:
- Most of the time, I only use
Orzorga's Tripe Trifle Pocket and the normal mob drop Essence of Magicka, Essence of Stamina, or Crown Tri-Potions. If you are doing harder contents, please refer to the Consumables section where you can pick and choose which one you need more! - We use the Lover mundus for all solo content to increase our penetration. As I state above, this build can reach the 75% penetration cap for instanced contents.
Thank you!
I hope you'll enjoy the build as much as I do. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to let me know at @KaiRosenthal in-game.
See you around, and happy adventuring!
