New Vampire and Werewolf Shrines
New discoverable Vampire and Werewolf Shrines have been added to each alliances first zones. At these shrines, you will find the Vampirism quest giver Azisa the Keeper and the Werewolf quest giver Firralthel:

| Glenumbra | View on map | View on map |
| Stonefalls | View on map | View on map |
The new shrines have dedicated map icons once discovered. Existing shrines still have no map icons.
Quest Givers and Instant Re-Acquisition
At these new Shrines, the new NPC quest givers allows you to:
- First time: Start the Vampire or Werewolf quest without needing a player bite.
- Returning: If you've previously completed the quest and cured yourself, you can immediately regain the skill line without repeating the quest.
How to Get Vampirism or Lycanthropy in Update 49
The old methods still work. The new NPCs just remove the friction. No more begging for bites in zone chat!
1. New Quest Method
- Pickup the Quest from Crown Store or travel directly to one of the new discoverable shrines in Auridon, Glenumbra, or Stonefalls.
- Speak to the NPC to start the questline.
- Travel to the original Shrine location and complete the quest
- Done, you are now a Vampire/Werewolf!
2. Player or NPC Bite
Player bites are still available at both old and new shrines. The nighttime requirement for Bloodfiend NPC spawns has also been removed, making natural bites easier to get. Guides have been updated for U49:
Crown Store and Cure Changes
Update 49 adjusts the monetization of cures and removes Vampirism/Werewolf Bites from the Crown Store.
- Paid bites removed from Crown Store
- Free Crown Store cures
- In-game gold costs for cures have been reduced.
- Cure NPCs have been added to more Mages Guilds.
Upcoming Werewolf Visual Refresh
As part of the Combat Refresh initiative, a visual overhaul of Werewolves is coming later in Season Zero:
- The base werewolf model is being updated with higher-fidelity visuals.
- A long-requested female werewolf model will be added to the game for free (with modesty fur).
- This is not part of the Update 49 launch on March 9 but is confirmed for Season Zero.
