What Are Trade Bars?

ESO Trade Bars are a permanent, account-wide in-game currency in ESO used to purchase collectibles, cosmetics and consumables from the Gold Coast Bazaar and Event Merchants.

Trade Bars replace Event Tickets entirely as of Update 49 and are earned exclusively through gameplay. They cannot be purchased with Crowns.

How to Earn Trade Bars

There are multiple ways to earn Trade Bars, with significantly higher total availability than the old Event Ticket system ever had!

1. Tamriel Tomes (Primary Source)

The Tamriel Tome is the most consistent and reliable source of Trade Bars.

  • Free track rewards Trade Bars each Season
  • Paid Tome tracks provide additional Trade Bars
  • Example: Season Zero offers up to 9,000 Trade Bars for free, plus 1,500 more from paid tracks

2. In-Game Events

All events (like the Anniversary JubileeJester’s Festival and Whitestrake’s Mayhem) now award Trade Bars instead of tickets. Trade Bars fully replace Event Tickets for all events.

  • Earned through standard event activities instead of Tickets
  • Event rewards are still bought from Event Vendors

3. PvP Veterancy Track

Players can also earn Trade Bars through PvP progression.

  • Earned via the Veterancy Track
  • Provides an alternative non-event source

Event Ticket Conversion to Trade Bars

With the launch of Update 49 on 9 March 2026, Event Tickets are officially retired and automatically converted into Trade Bars.

Conversion Rate

  • 1 Event Ticket = 100 Trade Bars

Notes

  • Conversion is automatic
  • No cap applies after conversion
  • Existing event collectibles now cost 1,000 Trade bars (instead of 10 tickets)
  • You have more ways to earn Trade Bars currency than Event Tickets ever had

Where to Spend Trade Bars

Trade Bars are spent in the Gold Coast Bazaar, a dedicated store section within the Crown Store UI and on Event Merchants.

1. Gold Coast Bazaar

The Bazaar focuses on returning and evergreen rewards that were previously limited to events, promotions, or special campaigns.

2. Event Merchants

The Impresario & Philius Dormier, Event Merchant’s Assistant

The Impresario is only present during active in-game events. She is the primary source for new event rewards and Morphing Collectibles.

Philius is the "catch-up" specialist. He stays by the Event Exchange tent even when the Impresario is away.

Nenulaure (The Indrik Vendor)

The Indrik Vendor is a specialized event merchant selling unique Indrik mounts.

Trade Bars vs Tome Points Explained

ESO's systems use two currencies that work together but serve different purposes. Here's what you need to know:

Simple Explanation:

  • Tome Points = Currency you earn and spend within the Tamriel Tomes (battle pass)
  • Trade Bars = Currency you receive from Events & the Tome which you then spend at the Gold Coast Bazaar and Event Merchants.

Think of it this way: Tome Points unlock rewards → Trade Bars are one of those rewards
