Trade Bars are the primary gameplay currency in The Elder Scrolls Online for acquiring collectibles, cosmetics and event rewards. Introduced on March 9, 2026 with Update 49, Trade Bars replaced Event Tickets entirely and come with no accumulation cap.
What Are Trade Bars?
Trade Bars are a permanent, account-wide currency in ESO used to purchase collectibles, cosmetics and consumables. Introduced on March 9, 2026 with Update 49, replacing Event Tickets entirely.
Trade Bars are earned through gameplay only. They cannot be purchased with Crowns. Unlike Event Tickets, which had a strict accumulation cap, Trade Bars have no cap and never expire.
| Introduced | March 9, 2026 (Update 49) |
| Replaces | Event Tickets |
| Currency cap | None |
| Account-wide | Yes |
| Purchasable with Crowns | No |
| Expiry | Never |
How to Earn Trade Bars
There are multiple ways to earn Trade Bars, with significantly higher total availability than the old Event Ticket system ever had!
1. Tamriel Tomes (Primary Source)
The Tamriel Tome is the most consistent and reliable source of Trade Bars. Trade Bars are distributed across both the free and paid tracks as you progress through Challenges.
- Free track rewards Trade Bars each Season at no cost
- Paid Tome tracks provide additional Trade Bars on top of the free track
- Progress is earned through Weekly Challenges and Seasonal Challenges
2. In-Game Events
All ESO in-game events now award Trade Bars instead of Event Tickets. The reward ratio is identical to the old system: a daily quest that previously gave 3 Event Tickets now gives 300 Trade Bars in a container.
Events that award Trade Bars include:
- Anniversary Jubilee (300 Trade Bars per day from the Jubilee cake)
- Jester's Festival
- Whitestrake's Mayhem
- Zeal of Zenithar
- New Life Festival
- All other active ESO in-game events
Event rewards are still purchased from Event Merchants using Trade Bars.
3. PvP Veterancy Track
Trade Bars can also be earned through PvP progression via the Veterancy system. This provides a source outside of events and the Tome for players focused on PvP content.
Event Ticket Conversion to Trade Bars
With the launch of Update 49 on March 9, 2026, all existing Event Tickets automatically convert into Trade Bars. No action is required from players.
Conversion Rate
- 1 Event Ticket = 100 Trade Bars
Notes:
- Conversion is automatic
- No cap applies after conversion
- Most event collectibles now cost 1,000 Trade Bars where they previously cost 10 tickets
- You have more ways to earn Trade Bars currency than Event Tickets ever had
Where to Spend Trade Bars
Trade Bars are spent in the Gold Coast Bazaar, a dedicated store section within the Crown Store UI and on Event Merchants.
1. Gold Coast Bazaar
The Gold Coast Bazaar is a dedicated tab within the Crown Store UI. It launches March 25, 2026 with an initial selection and expands fully on April 2, 2026 with Season Zero's official start.

Trade Bars vs Tome Points Explained
ESO uses two separate currencies that are often confused. They work together but serve completely different purposes.
| Currency | Where Earned | Where Spent |
| Tome Points | Completing Challenges in the Tamriel Tome | Inside the Tamriel Tome to unlock reward pages |
| Trade Bars | Events, Tome rewards, PvP Veterancy | Gold Coast Bazaar and Event Merchants |
Think of it this way: Tome Points unlock rewards → Trade Bars are one of those rewards
