- 100% extra Fence interactions
- 25% greater value for items sold to a fence
- Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild Daily Quests reward you with a Pouch of Ill-Gotten Goods
- Pickpocketing, looting murdered citizens, stealing from safeboxes, and looting Thieves Troves can drop Pouches of Ill-Gotten Goods
How to Participate in the Crime Wave Mini-Event
To get started in the Crime Wave Mini-Event in the Elder Scrolls Online, you do not need to pick up any Holiday Quest or travel to any specific zone. Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guilds skill lines from their DLC zones will make you a better criminal, but they are not mandatory.
Crime Wave bonuses are active in all of Tamriel so you can choose where you want to commit your crimes and even pair it with furnishing plan farming if you wish. Each zones citizens and containers mainly drop furnishing plans in that zones style. This means that West Weald citizens will mainly carry Colovian style plans and High Isle citizens will carry Leyawiin style plans etc.
Do I get tickets from the Crime Wave Mini-Event?
No, the Crime Wave mini-event does not include tickets, the Impresario or anything else normally considered to be included in a full fledged event.
How do I get Pouches of Ill-Gotten Goods in ESO?
ESO Pouch of Ill-Gotten Goods is a guaranteed reward when you return Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild Daily Quests excluding Kari’s Tip Board and Elam’s Marked for Death book.
You also have a chance to find Pouch of Ill-Gotten Goods from pickpocketing, looting murdered citizens, stealing from safeboxes or looting Thieves Troves. You have almost no chance of getting one from illegal activities if you're an upstanding citizen, meaning you need to increase your Bounty and Heat levels by committing Crimes. The highest criminal status is Fugitive, meaning guards will kill you on sight.
What Rewards can I get from Pouches of Ill-Gotten Goods in ESO?
The ESO Crime Wave Event Container "Pouch of Ill-Gotten Goods" can contain thievery-related items listed below:
- New Consumable item: Tips on Legerdemain. When consumed, grants your character 40 Legerdemain XP. It can be traded or sold to other players after laundering.
- One million gold bounty pardon
- Sellable Contraband
- Any furnishing normally obtained through theft
- New furnishing: Coin Pile, Tall, Coin Pile, Small, Coin, Single, Crime Notice, Small, Crime Notice, Large.
- Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild Consumables
Tips for the Crime Wave Mini-Event
Thanks to the increased Fence interactions and stolen item value, you will be able to level up your Legerdemain skill line and complete Justice Achievements faster.
- To get the highest price when laundering during the Crime Events 25% boost, you should unlock the 10% Haggling passive and the 25% Infamous Champion Passive for a total of 60% increased fenced goods price.
- You have a higher chance of acquiring Pouches of Ill-Gotten Goods when you are at the Fugitive status (1,500 golds worth of bounty).
- Citizens of Tamriel only carry three items on their person. After pickpocketing three times, they show up as empty to you and do not get any more items.
- Pick pocketing works the same as looting containers. If you start seeing empty pockets, you have reached your pick pocketing limit, but you can relog or rezone to reset.
- You share your citizens 3 pick pocket loot with group member so it is not advisable to group up if you want to pick pocket the same citizens. In a group everyone will be able to loot a murdered citizen if it has not been pick pocketed clean first.
- To kill people faster with the Blade of Woe, you can turn off the "Assassination Camera" under Settings->Camera.
- It will be easier to obtain the Black Market Mogul achievement which requires you to sell stolen goods for a total of 1,000,000 Gold. You can min-max this by selling only high value items in Outlaws Refuges that also have their own achievement (such as Fargrave Larcenist).
