How to join the Dark Brotherhood in ESO

 header

Welcome to the How to join the Dark Brotherhood in ESO guide! The Dark Brotherhood is a guild in ESO which you will need in order to start killing NPCs without getting caught - at least that's what most players want it for. If you are interested in what skills the Dark Brotherhood offers, please visit the Dark Brotherhood skill line page.Of course there's also players that want to explore the Dark Brotherhood, become an Assassin and want to do the Achievements and get some nice rewards for getting up in the ranks. The most important part though for most is getting Blade of Woe. This skill will make you able to sneak up on your victim from behind and quickly call the weapon of the Dark Brotherhood to your hand and deliver a killing blow to an unsuspecting target. Experience from this target is reduced by 75% though, so leveling through this is not necessarily a good idea. This ability also doesn't work on players or difficult targets. In order to start with the Dark Brotherhood you need to either have access to the DLC by having ESO Plus, or by owning the DLC. You can buy the DLC in the Crown Store for Crowns if you don't want to subscribe to the game with ESO Plus.Once you have either obtained it or you have access to it via ESO Plus, you can go to your Collections tab, then choose Stories from there and select ZONE DLC.

When you accept the quest you will get the objective to teleport to the Gold Coast. Once you have teleported to Anvil, the Quest Marker will show you to which NPC you will have to talk.At the docks you will find Amelie Crowe. She will ask you to kill an innocent in the city of Anvil, that way you will draw the attention of the Dark Brotherhood.

Your best and easiest bet is to kill the NPC by the beach. There's no guards there and no other NPCs that will see you, and since you will get a penalty for killing the NPC it is better not to draw the attention of any guards.

After you have killed her, you will have to return to Amelie Crowe, but instead of Amelie a Courier will run up to you and hand you a letter.

Then all you have left to do is find the Lighthouse in Anvil, which is pretty much directly by the coast and talk to Speaker Terenus. This will give you Blade of Woe and will give you the follow up quest to enter the lair of the Dark Brotherhood.
