How to Participate in the Witches Festival 2024 Event in ESO

To get started in the Witches Festival Event in the Elder Scrolls Online, complete the following steps:

How can I get Event Tickets in Witches Festival in ESO?

During the Witches Festival Event, you can earn two event tickets per day when defeating a boss-type creature for the first time that day. The tickets alongside a Plunder Skull will need to be looted.

Boss types: Incursion, Quest, Delve, Public Dungeon, Dungeon, Trial, Arena, Tho'at in Infinite Archive and World Bosses.  

What are ESO Plunder Skulls and How to Get Them

Plunder Skulls are reward containers that you will be able to obtain during the ESO Halloween Event from every boss type and without any limits.

They will drop from defeated bosses and can contain various kinds of rewards, including Alchemy reagents, Festival-themed furnishing recipes and furnishing, provisioning recipes, treasure, a small chance for one of the following: A Hollowjack style item or Dremora style items and Worms, Crawlers, Guts, Insect Parts.

The fastest and easiest way to earn Plunder Skulls

The fastest and easiest way to earn Plunders Skulls is by completing normal Fungal Grotto 1 with 4 Damage Dealers. The bosses are easy to defeat,  the mechanics aren't difficult and you don't need to fight other players for a chance of loot.

You can also join groups in almost any overland zone to farm World Bosses and World Events! Incursion events like Geysers, Harrowstorms, Dragons, Volcanic vents, Mirrormoors Mosaics will give loot to everyone, but keep in mind that all other boss types only give loot to 12 highest damage dealers.

It is recommended you pick an activity where you feel you get the best rewards for your time. Have fun farming!

Special Dremora Plunder Skulls

In addition to getting normal Plunder Skulls, the first boss of each type that you defeat each day will drop a special Dremora Plunder Skull.

New Rewards from the Witches Festival Event in 2024

Eltheric Revenant Outfit Style

The Eltheric Revenant Outfit Style Pages have a chance to drop from Dremora Plunder Skulls during Witches Festival. You can also buy bound pages from Impresario for 5 tickets each.

Plunder Skull Blunder memento

The Plunder Skull Blunder memento has a chance to drop from Dremora Plunder Skulls during Witches Festival. You can also buy the memento from Impresario for 5 tickets.

Senchal Horned Owl pet

After completing the "What a Hoot!" achievement by collecting and using 10 Horned Owl Feathers, you are awarded with Senchal Horned Owl pet. 

Horned Owl Feathers have a chance to drop from Dremora Plunder skulls, however you can also buy Horned Owl Feathers from Impresario for 2 tickets each.

Lord Hollowjack Trophy and Bust

The Trophy: Lord Hollowjack is awarded to you after defeating Lord Hollowjack for the first time, earning the Pumpkin Plunderer achievement.

Bust: Lord Hollowjack has a chance to drop from Lord Hollowjack.

Haven of the Five Companions house

The Witches Festival Event will present you with the two first fragments for the new Haven of the Five Companions house: Lyris Titanborn's Key and Varen Aquilarios's Key for 10 Event Tickets Each.  You need 5 keys for the house.

Other collectibles from the Witches Festival Event you might not know about

Exorcised Coven Cottage house is available for purchase for either in-game Gold or Crowns only during the Witches Festival. You can buy the Cottage with 250,000 Gold after completing the An Unsparing Harvest meta-achievement. You don't need the achievement if you buy it with Crowns.

Witch's Infernal Hat is awarded to you after you complete 13 Witches Festival Writs which also gives you the Wicked Writ Apprentice achievement.

Character title: Witch is awarded to you after completing 28 Witches Festival Writs which also gives you the Wicked Writ Witch achievement.  

Quests during the 2024 Witches Festival

There are three unique quests to the Witches Festival. Plucking the Crow and the new The Lord of Fear are daily quests which you can repeat once per day, while The Witchmother's Bargain is the Event's Intro quest that you can only complete once per character.

The Lord of Fear Quest - new in 2024

Warning: Quest contains jump scare(s) and loads of general creepyness.

In 2024 you will need to confront Lord Hollowjack himself! The new daily quest giver Priest Maxien Roudille is found inside the Witches Cove in Auridon, Glenumbra or Stonefalls. He will task you with rescuing three Haunted people in Grahtwood, Deshaan and Stormhaven.

After rescuing the three Haunted people, you will face Lord Hollowjack himself inside his Seat of Detritus. After rescuing the haunted once, the next time you pickup the daily quest it will ask you to just defeat Lord Hollowjack.

Its is recommended to bring other players with you as the fight has a resource drain and some stuns. Lord Hollowjack himself has 6,6 million health and several phases with adds joining him quite often.

Lord Hollowjack summons Sapping Scarecrow totems that apply resource drain stacks to all players. If you don't kill these before the sneak phase, you have to use the crow synergies to remove resource drain stacks. You will struggle with stamina and staying in sneak if you don't remove the resource drain stacks.

You don't take much damage from anything except from his Aura of Dread during his search phase which is a one-shot, killing you instantly.

Remember to return the quest to Priest Maxien Roudille as the "Dremora Plunder Skull, Lord Hollowjack" has a very small chance to offer you ALL the new special rewards in a single skull!

HINT: You are able to join groups to defeat Lord Hollowjack for a chance of obtaining his bust, even if you do not have the quest. Note that you will not get the Lord Hollowjack Dremora Plunder Skull without the quest. The portal will open the moment a player with the quest joins your group, or you join theirs.

Plucking the Crow Quest

You will find Witchmother Taerma at Impresarios tents and the Witches Coven. She will offer you the Plucking the Crow Quest. Your objective is to collect 30 Feathers in order to defeat a powerful Crowborne Horror in Evergloam. 

You will receive these feathers from the Plunder Skulls whichdrop from all boss monsters. As soon as you have received all the feathers, you can return to Olyve’s Brewery and turn to the alchemy table to craft the effigy. You then have to show Witchmother Taerma the effigy and hand her the effigy.

Following a ritual, a portal will open and lead you to a pocket dimension in which the Crowborne Horror is waiting for you to defeat it. It is absolutely advisable to bring friends!

The Witchmother's Bargain Quest

You can redeem The Witchmother's Bargain Quest in the Crown Store. Witchmother Olyve will appear and offer you a quest which asks you to bring her a boon.

You need to acquire Guts and a Pumpkin from the world, guildies or guild store and an Essence of Death from any Delve Boss.  Return to Witchmother Olyve in Auridon, Glenumbra or Stonefalls.  

Upon completing the quest, you will receive the Witchmother's Whistle memento. The memento is no longer needed for the XP buff as it is passive, but it is still required to complete the Sacking Skeletons and Cauldron Conjurer achievements. 

What does the Impresario sell during the Witches Festival Event in ESO?

Impresario can be found in Daggerfall in Glenumbra, Vulkhel Guard in Auridon, Davon's Watch in Stonefalls, or Belkarth in Craglorn. She has also been added to all major Chapter zones capitals.  

Witches Grab Bag Rewards

Several rewards from previous Witches Festival events can no longer be obtained from Plunder Skulls. These rewards can however be obtained from the Witches Grab Bag, available from the Impresario for 2 Event Tickets each. Here are the rewards that you can get from the Witches Grab Bag:
