ESO is getting two new Companions, everything we know about Ember and Isobel
On January 27th, the Elder Scrolls Online revealed their 2022 story-arc and new game content that is about to release in June and which will be called Legacy of the Bretons. It will feature The Systres Archipelago with its center-piece High Isle located far southwest of Daggerfall and northwest of Summerset. Here you can find a recap about everything that was revealed.

In this article we want to go more in depth about the companions which will be released with the new chapter called High Isle for ESO (Elder Scrolls Online).

The two new Companions in the High Isle Chapter for ESO

What we know so far is that their names are Ember and Isobel. Ember is a Khajiit that grew up on the streets. She is clever, she is wild and she has a knack for magic and her moralities are “pretty flexible” to quote Richard. Isobel is a Breton that wants to do right by the player and her character is more aligned towards the honorable ideal. She is an aspiring knight, but not preachy, lecturing or stiff.

Players will be able to find them by adventuring through High Isle, which means that without the new chapter High Isle, they also won’t be available to other players. Both will have their individual quests and will be unlocked after completing them, much like when companions were first introduced to the Elder Scrolls Online in 2021 with the Blackwood chapter.

Companions will fight by the player’s side and aid them through their gameplay. They have their own likes and dislikes, prefer a special style of combat and are more limited in their skills than players, for example, but can also fulfill any role such as a tank, a healer or a damage dealer.

To give you a more detailed description of the two characters and list their traits better, here’s an overview of what we know so far:
Ember and Isobel the two new companions coming with the High Isle chapter in 2022 for ESOEmber and Isobel

Ember Companion
  • Morally flexible Khajiit
  • Grew up on the streets
  • Clever and wild
  • Has a knack for magic, probably Sorcerer skills

A full list of all the skills for the Ember companion will be available in the Ember Companion overview page once we get closer to the launch of the ESO High Isle Chapter.

Isobel Velois Companion
  • Morally honorable Breton
  • Aspiring knight, possibly Templar skills
  • Fun to be around
  • Not preachy, lecturing or stiff

A full list of all the skills for the Ember companion will be available in the Isobel Companion overview page once we get closer to the launch of the ESO High Isle Chapter.

Players hope that with Ember the Khajiit in ESO a truly morally flexible character comes into the game, meaning that she won’t object to using Blade of Woe, as the other companions are strictly against it.
