The Oakensoul Ring will now be easier to obtain in ESO - Patch notes overview
The new High Isle Mythic item, Oakensoul Ring, will now be easier to obtain for players in the Elder Scrolls Online.

The first incremental patch since High Isle is live today for PC and Mac players, and the most interesting change is a tweak to the drop rate of the Petrified Oak Loop, which a lot of players were struggling with, as well as a new way to obtain it.
There are also some other minor changes and fixes which we will outline in this article.
What's New with the Oakensoul Ring?
ESO players who were trying to obtain the new Oakensoul Ring were having trouble with the Petrified Oak Loop, one of the five leads required to obtain the item. Previously, this lead only dropped from strongboxes in Murkmire which are few in number. This led to scores of players crowding around these strongboxes trying to be the first to loot them in the hope that they would get their lead.Players were understandably not happy with this, so Zenimax have decided to address the problem by doubling the drop rate of the lead from the strongboxes while also adding a second way to obtain the lead. We don't yet know what this is, but as soon as we have this information we will update the page for the Oakensoul Ring with the new location.

Other High Isle Changes in ESO
There have also been a few bug fixes to various quests and locations in the High Isle and Amenos zone, including bug fixes for Tower Full of Trouble and Tournament of the Heart, the two quests that were needed to recruit the new companions. There have been some fixes and minor changes in Dreadsail Reef, mainly fixes and tweaks to the first boss, an encounter which has proven quite difficult on Veteran difficulty for many groups.
There has been some bugfixes related to Tales of Tribute as well as an improvement to NPC AI in Tales of Tribute, specifically improving their ability to make use of Patron abilities.

General Changes and Fixes
Some players might have noticed that changing the main menu music in the settings wasn't working properly. The game was basically ignoring whatever was specified by the player, so you would only hear the music you chose immediately after changing the setting and not in subsequent sessions. This should now be resolved. There were also a couple of crash fixes, a fix to Werewolf's Deafening Roar not applying the off-balance effect, and some fixes to the new Spanish client.

We hope you enjoyed this article about the incremental patch in ESO. The Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online game (MMO) developed by Zenimax Online Studios.
