The Oakensoul Ring Mythic is Causing Massive Headaches for PvP Players in ESO
The Oakensoul Ring may have made ganking in Elder Scrolls Online PvP a little bit too easy.

The new Oakensoul Ring is one of the most notorious features of the High Isle chapter for the Elder Scrolls Online at this point.
In PvP it is becoming quite infamous due to its extremely good synergy with gank builds. It seems that gankers love this item, and everyone else in PvP probably hates it.
One of ESO's biggest Twitch streamers FENGRUSH made his thoughts about this new Mythic item quite clear in a recent Tweet. You can also view some of his builds on the Fengrush Builds Page if you want.
How Good is the Oakensoul Ring for Gank Builds in ESO?
Normally gankers have to "prebuff" while in stealth before attacking an opponent. Prebuffing is the process of casting several abilities to give yourself a lot of major and minor buffs, increasing your damage output as much as possible. A successful gank depends on having enough damage to defeat your opponent before they can react, although sometimes you'll get away with failing to do this if you are ganking a less experienced player. More experienced players tend to have faster reaction times and know how to recover from an unfavorable situation. The Oakensoul Ring basically removes the need to prebuff as it gives you all of the powerful major buffs, including Major Brutality, Major Savagery, Major Berserk and even the rarer and extremely powerful buffs like Major Heroism and Major Force. All of this just synergises perfectly with gank builds and makes them more flexible as they no longer need to spend time prebuffing in stealth, and they don't need to worry about the buffs running out either.

There really isn't anything that the rest of the PvP population can do about this new tide of empowered gankers, besides stacking on some defensive capabilities and getting ready to repel constant annoying attacks.
I think that the Oakensoul Ring will eventually get nerfed, at the very least they will probably remove the Major Force and Major Heroism, perhaps replacing them with their Minor counterparts, because having both of those up constantly is pretty broken. Making gank builds so effortlessly powerful definitely risks ruining the fun for some players, so changes might happen.
But in the meantime one-bar gank builds will just be something that PvP players have to deal with.
You can view community PVP builds on the Builds Overview Page (sorted after PVP) for ESO.
