Last week during the ESO Update 45 Preview Stream we noticed a new option called "Weather Control" in the housing collectibles menu which wasn't mentioned on stream. We can now confirm that Weather Control Support is being added to ESO in Update 45, though the furnishing will be added as a collectible sometime later in the year.
ESO adds a new furnishing category under services called "Weather Control" where you will be able to find the new Kynareth's Icon of Storm Control collectible furnishing. Read below how you can utilize the new furnishing and if your house will have support for Weather Control.
Check out our ESO Furniture Catalogue where you can find all furnishing items! You can submit images and drop locations as well.
Kynareth's Icon of Storm Control - first Weather Control Furniture in ESO
PTS Patch Notes Mentioned that Kynareth's Icon of Storm Control will be added to the game as a collectible later this year. You are able to interact with the furnishing and choose from three different types of weather; Stormy, Overcast or Clear. Kynareth's Icon of Storm Control glows blue when stormy weather is chosen, green when overcast is set and cyan when you choose the clear weather option. The weather will remain in its current state until you interact with the furnishing again.
It can only change the natural weather of the house, meaning if its in a snowy area, the "Stormy" option will show snow instead of rain. The furnishing won't introduce any new skyboxes nor weather that wouldn't be naturally found in the zone the house is located in. The Kynareth's Icon of Storm Control is a collectible therefore you will be able to place it in all of your homes!
All Weather Control Furnishing options:
- Set Weather to Stormy
- Lower to Overcast
- Lower to Clear
- Return to Normal Weather
Sandstorms are included in the weather, so you can now choose to remove the sandstorm in your Thieves Oasis house! Weather isn't the only thing being controlled as it also changes the ambient sounds you hear such as crickets or birds.
How to obtain the Kynareth's Icon of Storm Control Furnishing?
Kynareth's Icon of Storm Control will likely be an Event Collectible that you have to buy with Event Tickets and can later buy a similar item with other currencies. Sacred Hourglass of Alkosh Time Control Furnishing was also released first as an event collectible, but later were able to buy the Chronometer of the Tribunal with Writ Vouchers and Crowns from the Crown Store.
If the furniture is bought with Event Tickets, remember that you will need the base Stonewisp of Truth and Law pet that you morph into another collectible. The base pet costs a total of 15 Event Tickets. The Weather Control Furnishing might also come from Golden Pursuits, we just have to wait and see!
PSA: Sacred Hourglass of Alkosh is coming back for Q1 Events, starting with the Pan-Tamriel Celebration next week!
