The pure-DK U49 play pattern is straightforward:
- Keep Igneous Weapons, Quick Cloak, Barbed Trap, Stampede, Shatterspike Mantle, Incinerate, and Searing Claw rolling.
- Use Molten Whip when Seething Fury is built and about to matter.
- Use Take Flight on cooldown for the burst window.
- Immediately channel Engulfing Dragonfire during the Take Flight buff window, because that ability is forced to its maximum tick strength while Take Flight is active. One current U49 DK guide explicitly recommends dropping Take Flight and then firing off repeated Engulfing Dragonfire casts right after.
A clean opener is:
Igneous Weapons → Stampede → Shatterspike Mantle → Incinerate → Quick Cloak → Barbed Trap → Searing Claw → Take Flight → Engulfing Dragonfire → Molten Whip as Seething Fury lines up → refresh DoTs by expiry, not early.
