What is the Strongest New Crafted Set in ESO Firesong?

What is the Strongest New Crafted Set in ESO Firesong?

The upcoming Firesong DLC for the Elder Scrolls Online will add three new craftable item sets to the game. Anyone who owns the Firesong DLC or has ESO Plus will be able to craft the sets by visiting their respective crafting station in the new Galen and Y'ffelon zone, provided they have enough traits researched on the pieces they want to craft. You can find the stations by clicking on the links for the sets on this article, or by using our ESO Interactive Map.

In this article we will look at the new crafted sets and how strong they are. All of these new crafted sets seem like they are designed to be beginner-friendly, as they are easy to use and only need three researched traits per piece to craft.

Chimera's Rebuke set in ESO

The Chimera's Rebuke set is very much focused on group support and utility. It passively gives the wearer some extra maximum health, magicka and stamina, making it well suited for tanks. On top of that, it gives 2363 of the resource you restore from a fully charged heavy attack to three nearby allies, every time you complete a heavy attack.

This is not an especially powerful set, but that doesn't mean it's bad per se. If your group is really struggling with sustain and you find yourself heavy attacking quite often anyway, then you could wear this set to help everyone in your group out. In many organized groups, sets like The Worm's Raiment, Sentinel of Rkugamz or Symphony of Blades tend to be used by tanks or healers to boost sustain, along with skills like Energy Orb. But if none of your support players have access to these yet and you just want a quick and easy sustain boost, then you could definitely use this set in the meantime.

Old Growth Brewer set in ESO

Old Growth Brewer is another sustain-themed set, but this time it's focused on restoring resources to yourself, rather than your team. When wearing it, you passively get 129 extra health, magicka and stamina recovery, and when you drink a potion you will get an additional 245 of all three for 45 seconds.

This amounts to approximately 8,400 extra heath, magicka and stamina replenishment over the course of 45 seconds, assuming you are using potions on cooldown. You could instead get this amount of resources back by just doing a few heavy attacks, so for that reason I don't really like this set. It just doesn't seem worth 5 of your armor set slots for this effect, unless you are really struggling with sustain and don't have any other options.

Claw of the Forest Wraith set in ESO

Claw of the Forest Wraith is the third and final new set in ESO's Firesong DLC, and to answer the question posed in the title of this article, this is definitely the strongest out of these new sets. It will passively grant you an extra 1,314 critical chance rating on all of your attacks, with an additional 2037 on your class abilities. That amounts to an extra 6% critical chance on all of your attacks, and on top of that an additional 9% on your class abilities (so in total you get 15% extra critical chance on class abilities).

This is a pretty nice boost, especially if your primary source of damage is class abilities. The best thing about this set is that it's very easy to get - like all of the new crafted sets in Firesong, you only need to have three traits researched on a given piece in order to craft it, which means you can pick it up soon even if you are a fairly new player, and this set will honestly remain useful until you reach the endgame and start obtaining very powerful meta sets like Arms of Relequen, Kinras's Wrath and Bahsei's Mania.

To figure out if you should use this set, just look at the abilities on your bar - are you doing most of your damage with class abilities? If so, then testing this out may be worthwhile for you.
