Three Cool Mementoes in ESO, and How to Get Them

Three Cool Mementoes in ESO, and How to Get Them
ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) has various items known as mementoes that you can use. They cause your character to perform a special action or animation, usually just for fun or to show off to other players.

Today we will have a look at three of these items, including the infamous Mudball Pouch, and how you can get them.

Mudball Pouch Memento in ESO

The Mudball Pouch allows you to throw balls of mud at players and some NPCs, causing them to become dirty and quite irritated. The item comes from the New Life Festival, but the easiest way to obtain it is simply to buy it from a Guild Store - it is generally extremely cheap, you can find it listed for just a few hundred gold or even less. If you are struggling to find it, try searching for Runebox: Mudball Pouch on Tamriel Trade Center.

To use the item, you need to quickslot it on the radial menu, which you can do from your inventory. You will never run out of mudballs, so you can throw them to your heart’s content. Throwing them at a guard may incur some repercussions, however…

Malacath’s Wrathful Flame Memento in ESO

Malacath’s Wrathful Flame will cause your character to raise a huge axe in the air and emit trails of flame. To obtain it, you will need to head to Old Orsinium, a public dungeon in Wrothgar, and complete the quest Flames of Forge and Fallen.

You can get the quest from the NPC just inside the entrance of the dungeon. You will first have to light four fires situated around the dungeon. After that you will have to complete a puzzle where you activate four stone platforms in the correct order, which is Tumnosh, then Morkul, then Shatul and finally Igrun.

You can then advance to the next area of the dungeon, where you will have to light another four fires, and complete another similar puzzle. The correct order for the second puzzle is Bagrakh, Igrun, Shatul and Fharun.

Completing this puzzle will open the final area of the dungeon. All you have to do now is light the great pyre, and talk to the aspect of Malacath again to complete the quest and earn the Malacath’s Wrathful Flame.

There is a funny little trick you can do with this item - the first time you use it you will be locked into place until the animation ends, but using it subsequent times will allow you to run around with the axe raised and leave trails of fire in your wake, making a whole lot of noise in the process.

Twilight Shard Memento in ESO

This memento causes your character to float in the air and emit blinding yellow light for a few seconds. It may be a little forgotten about nowadays, as it actually comes from the prologue quest for Morrowind. You can still do that quest though, so don’t worry. It is quite a long one that will send you gallivanting around Tamriel for the best part of an hour.

The quest is called The Missing Prophecy, and you can pick it up by talking to Alessio Guillon in pretty much any major tavern, except for the Cloudy Dregs Inn.

After picking up the quest, you first have to travel to the Cloudy Dregs Inn in Stormhaven, and speak to Rhea Opacarius. She will then send you to Pariah Abbey to communicate with Azura.

Azura will, in turn, send you on a quest to kill 20 daedra. A good place to complete this objective is the Vanne Farm, which has groups of Scamps and Dremora situated all around it. You can find it just North East of Koeglin Village in Western Stormhaven.

You will then return to Pariah Abbey to talk to Rhea again. She will be sucked into a portal and go missing, and we then have to find her along with two other Oracles.

Kanzin can be found in Rubble Butte in Southern Bangkorai, Rhea is trapped in Mephala’s Nest in Stonefalls, and Muz-Shah is in Faldar’s Tooth in The Rift. These locations are all Delves.

After rescuing them, you will again have to return to Pariah Abbey, and will then subsequently be sent to investigate Cold-Blood Cavern in Shadowfen.

You have to recover three cursed treasures from this dungeon, and after doing this you will be able to access a small pocket-realm of Oblivion.

You will have to defeat three bosses, the last of which is Dyzera.

After defeating them, return to Rhea in Cold-Blood Tavern and you will reach the end of the quest, and be rewarded with the Twilight Shard.
