ESO Portals of Oblivion Challenge - Free Flame Atronach Pets and Extra Endeavors

In this article we will explain what you need to do to claim the Flame Atronach Pony Guar and Firebelly Shalk pets for free. Portals of Oblivion is part of The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) 10-Year Anniversary Spotlight in which players are challenged to do in-game activities to be able to claim rewards in the Crown Store for free. The August 2024 theme is celebrating Gates of Oblivion, ESO's fifth major story arc featuring the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon.

The Oblivion Portal challenge will start on August 5 at 2PM UTC / 10AM EDT and will run until September 3 at 2PM UTC / 10AM EDT.

Oblivion Portal challenge in ESO

In August 2024 You are challenged to complete 10 Oblivion Portals in either Blackwood or Deadlands zones and to defeat all Blackwood Oblivion portal bosses for an additional reward. You will need to either buy the DLC's or subscribe to ESO Plus membership to gain access to the zones.

Oblivion Portals are World Events, but resemble Public Dungeons more as they are instanced and have a maximum player count. Read our Blackwood Oblivion Portals World Event Guide to find out the boss locations, rewards, achievements, how to summon the secret boss and more!

Extra Endeavors in August

Both Weekly and Daily Endeavors will feature Mehrunes Dagon themed Endeavors that reward a higher amount of Seals than normal. These will include completing Oblivion Portals and other portal-themed Endeavors. Remember to check the Daily Endeavors before starting your adventure as you might accidentally complete 3/3 normal Endeavors and subsequently miss the higher reward Dagon themed Endeavors.

How to get the Flame Atronach Pony Guar pet in ESO

Complete 10 Oblivion Portals in either Deadlands or Blackwood to gain the Deadlands Portal Punisher or Blackwood Portal Punisher achievement. Use our interactive map to see all the possible spawn spots for Oblivion Portals on the Deadlands and Blackwood zones.

Once you've completed either of the Portal Punisher achievements, navigate to the crown store and claim your free Flame Atronach Pony Guar pet!

How to get the Firebelly Shalk pet in ESO

Complete the Oblivion Obliterator achievement by defeating all seven generals in the Blackwood Oblivion Portals. Once you've completed the Oblivion Obliterator achievement, navigate to the crown store and claim your free Firebelly Shalk pet.
