Leveling up in MMOs can be a pain and that is no different in ESO (The Elder Scrolls Online). While ESO isn't as grindy as other MMOs it can still take quite a while to reach an acceptable level for your character.
Even more tedious is gaining a good amount of Champion Points. So what can you do as a new player to optimize your experience gains? Of course there are several things that you can do, but today we are taking a look at the daily login rewards, because there are a lot of useful things in there to speed up progression!
Daily Login Rewards and EXP Scrolls in ESO
Daily login rewards can have a lot of useful items for new players. Most of long term players call the rewards "trash", but that is because they already have maxed out characters, a lot of gold and enough potions for a lifetime of playing. For new players pretty much all items are worth getting from the rewards.
The Trick: Log in daily to acquire ALL the Experience Scrolls in the Daily Rewards for ESO.
This is the easiest thing you can do as a new player and won't require any know how of farming locations and so on. Even if you decide not to play ESO every day, it will be worth it to just log in quickly and get the daily reward.
Lets take a look at an example month for the Daily Login Rewards. In this month alone you get:
- 6x Crown Experience Scroll (50% Boost)
- 1x Grand Gold Coast Experience Scroll (150% Boost)
You can use the 50% Experience Scrolls whenever you are questing or killing monsters. It is recommended to save the 150% or100% Experience Scrolls for a grinding session to get the most out of them. Each month there are usually one or two 150%/100% Experience Scroll in the daily login rewards. The 50% EXP Scrolls drop plenty and therefore you have to plan less ahead if you want to use them.
Eventually your inventory will look like this and you will always have access to experience scrolls to boost EXP gains for Characters or Champion Points whenever you want if you always pick up the daily login rewards.

How long do veteran players need to grind up new characters in ESO?
As a new player you will take a lot longer to max out your character or gain Champion Points. That is normal because you aren't aware of most of the mechanics and tactics. For experienced players leveling a character from 1 to 50 takes around 3-5 hours in ESO (Elder Scrolls Online). That might sound fast if you are a new player but is pretty standard if you optimize your character with top of the line grind gear and EXP scrolls.
Tip: Certain Events in ESO do have an extra 100% EXP Boost active. For example the Witches Festival always has 100% Exp Boost active.
Leveling up a character from 1 to 50 and get him raid ready takes about 24 hours of playtime if you know how. "Raid ready" not only includes leveling up to 50, but also get the Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, Psijic Order skill-lines and get enough Skyshards to get all must have skills and passives.
Believe it or not, you can even level up from 1 to 50 within less than an hour with the Alchemy Writs Grind Method. You will need a lot of gold for that because buying Alchemy Writs is expensive. But this might also be worth a mention because now you can actually save Alchemy Writs for the future or sell them for a good price.
Anyway, the Daily Login Rewards are a good way to start optimizing your EXP gains if you are a new player. Later you can still further optimize your EXP gains with the more in depth tactics that we just explained above.
