Skyshards Collection Guide - Elder Scrolls Online

Skyshards - Tips & Tricks

In this part of the Skyshards guide we are going to look at what you can do to speed up the Skyshards farming process.

When you go farm Skyshards, it’s good to start with those that are found in the Overland first, meaning not bothering to go into delves in order to collect them, because it takes time to fight through all the monsters, whereas in Overland you can skip them most of the time. On the following zone maps below the Overland Skyshards are marked Green, whereas the Delve and Public Dungeon Skyshards are marked Yellow.

Here is a list of tips which will help you in the long run, you might not be able to use all of these immediately. However, once you are used to the game and you want to create multiple characters these tips can safe you a lot of time.

  • Get Rapid Maneuver from the Assault PVP Skill Line. You will have to PVP a bit to obtain Rapid Maneuver, but it will increase your speed both on Mount and on foot! This is almost a must have on any character. I recommend doing Battlegrounds to level up as it is the least complicated method, because even if you loose you still gain Alliance Points to level up the Assault PVP Skill Line.
  • In order to save some money on teleporting, or time, teleport to your guildmates from the guild menu, or friends on your friend list.
  • Always unlock as many Wayshrines as possible on the way.
  • Either get the Darkstride or Jailbreaker Set (or both) if you want to collect all Skyshards. Especially for those in Delves and Public Dungeons. That way you can sprint faster and longer.
  • A good example on a speed optimized build would be the Speedy G Build. You don't need all of this, but it should give you a good overview on what could be possible if you really want to push it to the limits.
  • If you go Skyshard hunting in Cyrodiil (PvP Zone), try going into a campaign that doesn’t have a high population, or at times where population is low. Most will be in enemy territory and others will also only be available if your faction controls these areas.
  • While you are going on a Skyshard hunt, you can collect lorebooks at the same time, especially if you need the Mages Guild Skill Line. Even doing the Psijic Order Skill Line is a good idea while collecting Skyshards.
  • In case you aren’t after completion or the achievement, and just want to farm skill points, skip those in the single-player delves. You might want to do the group event though in the Public dungeons, as they provide you with an additional skill point, not many players know this as it is not mentioned anywhere.
  • After you are done collecting all Skyshards in a region, you can purchase them in the Crownstore Skyshard section per region if you create another character (50 Crowns per Skyshard).

If you collect all the Skyshards listed in your achievement journal, you will even receive an award. Aside from a Skyshard as a housing item, you will also receive the Aetherial Blue Dye:
