ESO Cyrodiil Champions test will be on live megaservers after the Fallen Banners DLC launch, so possibly sometime late March or early April. In this article we will explain what the ESO Vengeance test entails, how you can prepare for it and showcase all Vengeance consumables, sieges and class skills available to you.
Please keep in mind that this is a performance test for data gathering, not a direction ESO PvP is going. ZOS needs the data from this test to figure the cause of Cyrodiils performance issues.
ESO Fallen Banners DLC and the Update 45 Base Game Updates launches on March 10th on PC and March 25th on Consoles.
Cyrodiil Champions test is active on PC/Mac from March 24 to March 31.
What is the ESO Cyrodiil Champion Test and Vengeance Campaign?
Zenimax is dedicated to find the root causes for the performance issues you see inside the ESO Cyrodiil PvP Zone, starting with a campaign that is a simplified version of Cyrodiil and your characters. It is important to remember, this is not "the direction" ESO is going, this is a test to gather data on mass battles and find issues they can fix. The Cyrodiil test will be held on live megaservers as it is the only place where there will be massive amounts of players. Even bots can not simulate the complexity or stress the server enough, that's why live servers and real players are needed.
ZOS_Kevin on the official forums noted: " Anything you see that's enabled or disabled during this test, is purely for the sake of performance, and getting calculations as low as possible on the server."
All other Cyrodiil campaigns will be disabled during the one week test leaving only the Vengeance campaign available. There will be server downtime to disable all the other campaigns and enable the Vengeance campaign. The Vengeance campaign will have a 100% increase in Alliance Points and Experience earned which is granted to you after you leave the campaign.
Your character, sieges, skills etc. will have the prefix "Vengeance" on them so you will be able to easily tell the difference. The skybox is a mix of red, purple and green to signify that this is a completely different campaign.
What you should know when queueing for the Vengeance Campaign in Cyrodiil Champions test
Basically think of going into the Cyrodiil Champions test as if you are logging into a Test Server with a Template character to gather data. Class skills are the only skills available in the ESO Vengeance campaign and have not been balanced at all, so each class has its weaknesses and strengths especially with cleanses and heals.
Sustain will be an issue, since almost all class skills use magicka. You should use a staff to heavy attack quite often so you don't run out of magicka. Stamina is mainly used for dodge rolling and blocking which gains no benefits from equipping a one hand and shield.
Since your stats are not affected by anything, you can successfully play with a naked character. If you zone in with gear on your character, you can equip/unequip them but it makes no difference to your character aside from having weapons to use.
Players that played during the ESO launch in 2014 might get a familiar feel from the Vengeance campaign as back then skills had no stamina morphs, staffs were always better and some classes were just worse than others due to their utility.
