Five Reasons to Join a Guild in the Elder Scrolls Online

If you're quite new to the Elder Scrolls Online, you might not have joined a player guild or might not know how to.

Ultimately it is of course up to you if you choose to join a guild or not, but there are quite a lot of benefits to being in a player guild, and in this article we will explore those.

If you're not sure how to join player guilds in ESO, then check out or guide about it  here.

Why You Should Join a Player Guild in ESO

Here are five great reasons to dive into a guild in the Elder Scrolls Online:
  • No more long queue times for dungeons. Most guilds will have players doing the daily Undaunted Pledges every day, and they will look for players to join from within the guilds that they are a member of. So this is a great way to find teams without having to wait for the Activity Finder which is notorious for taking a long time to find a dungeon if you are a DPS player.
  • Find New Friends. There are a lot of interesting people to meet in ESO. If you only log in occasionally to do a bit of solo content then this might not interest you, but if you're playing more regularly then finding some friends in the game can really improve your experience in ESO.
  • Access to Guild Stores. Larger Guilds in ESO (over 50 members) have access to a Guild Store which allows members to buy and sell items without needing to use zone chat. Trading guilds are guilds specifically created for this purpose and they usually own a Guild Trader. Guild Traders are NPCs hired by guilds that allow anyone to buy items listed by members of the guild, instead of it being restricted to guild members only. I highly recommend joining at least one trading guild to make some extra gold.
  • Learn new things about the game. There is a well of knowledge in ESO guilds about the many different parts of the game, such as dungeons, PvP, trials, crafting and more. When I was new to the game I learned an awful lot about it here, and the game is even more complicated now than it was then.
  • Guild events, lotteries and more. It's quite common for large guilds to run various events and competitions for their members. These events could be PvP groups, PvE raids, or they could be competitions such as lotteries, costume contests, item hunts and more. There are also more chilled events in some guilds such as group exploration, questing, fishing or roleplaying. It depends what kind of activities you like in ESO, but generally there is something for everyone, you just have to have a look around to find the right guild.
