Good news for all adventurers! The ESO Scribing System, which allows players to customize abilities, is set to become a permanent, free feature for all base game owners. Starting in mid-July, players will be able to claim the Scribing system directly from the Crown Store at no cost. Additionally there will be a Golden Pursuit Campaign relating to scribing activities

How to claim ESO Scribing System
In mid-July, you can navigate to the Crown Store and claim the ESO Scribing System for free. Gold Road is being moved to ESO Plus at the launch of Update 46 meaning Scribing will be added to the base game permanently.
Mages within Mages Guilds across Tamriel can teleport you to the necessary locations, even if you lack access to DLC zones.
Scribing will not be available for purchase during Update 46 launch
ZOS has stated that when Update 46 launches in June, players who do not currently own Scribing will not be able to purchase/gain access to it until mid-July. This means that if you want to access the ESO Scribing System in June with subclassing, you need to purchase the Gold Road Chapter before June 2, for PC/Mac and June 18, for consoles.
Requirements for starting the Scribing Quest
- Claim the Scribing System via the Crown Store
- Level 30 character or have at least one Champion Point
