Chaos in Craglorn - ESO Event-Goers Trolled by Poison Spreaders

Any online game has its trolls and griefers, and there's one trick used by trolls in ESO that keeps making a comeback. It's apparently started happening again during the current Zeal of Zenithar event.

Troll Poison Causing Chaos in Craglorn

In the Craglorn zone there are some encounters, ironically with trolls of the in-game enemy variety, that place a poison AOE on players. This poison can be spread to other players who go too close to it, and if it happens to several players in close proximity then the damage can very quickly become deadly.

Normally this doesn't affect anyone outside the immediate vicinity of the enemy that threw the poison, however from time to time players find a way to transport the poison to populated areas, most notably Belkarth, the main hub city in Craglorn.

ESO troll poison in Belkarth, CraglornESO troll poison in Belkarth, CraglornBelkarth is always a busy place, home to some of the most sought-after Guild Trader spots in the game, as well as being a common place to search for trial groups. A lot of endgame players will simply stand around in the zone when they don't have anything better to do.

But it's even busier than usual at the moment, with an influx of all kinds of different players who are there to participate in the Zeal of Zenithar event and buy items from the Impresario and Indrik Vendor who are conveniently placed next to the Shrine of Zenithar.

The large number of players clustered in these locations make for a very juicy target for poison-spreaders. Players were discussing these events in a thread on the ESO Forums, with someone even asking ZOS to permaban the players responsible for spreading the poison. I think that's a little bit harsh myself. The poison is funny at first, and then annoying if you are just trying to do the quests, but I don't think anyone deserves to lose their account over it.

Going by previous times when this happened, this will most likely be fixed sooner or later, however it seems that players always manage to find new ways to transport the poison to Belkarth, so don't be too surprised if it makes another comeback in a future event.
