Everything on this build is tested in Battlegrounds which means it works in no CP. This is not for beginner players. I will probably make a CP version later.
Bonk Warden!
This build stacks percentage mitigation and raw damage. The mitigation can't be bypassed by things like corrosive or onslaught so it's BiS for now in my opinion over just stacking resistances.
Stacking raw damage on Warden with crit damage capped is the way to go. They don't need penetration; Deep Fissure, Force of Nature, and Onslaught take care of that.
Mundus
The mundus is up to your preference. This is where you can compensate for your own play style. So far the Serpent has had the best results for me in the current(U50) meta. There is a lot of damage flying around and blocking is mandatory to survive. The extra stamina sustain is VERY nice. If you don't have issues sustaining then the Thief and Warrior and are solid choices as well, and the Steed is good option if you want more speed.
Attributes
The Attributes are also yours to play with on this build. I feel comfortable around 31-34k health and 18-20k resources.
Sets
The first set I'm using is Gryphon's Ferocity. I know, I know. "Aerie's Cry is best in slot!" In duels where you don't have to chase someone, yeah. This is for BGs and Cyrodiil so the extra movement speed from Minor Expedition is crucial, and the Minor Force gets us to the crit damage cap and we really don't lose any damage other than the damage proc Aerie's Cry has.
The second set is Serpent's Disdain. Unfortunately there is no alternative with Warden's current class masteries. This is the way.
I chose Nibenay's Battlereaves for the monster set over something like Maarselok because it just offers the build an immense amount of survivability that we won't get elsewhere. The 5% mitigation goes with our theme of percentage mitigation, further reducing the need for resistances. The crit resistance is crit resistance. It's just good. And the actual proc on the set is to give you even more survivability via the HUGE damage shield you get when you are pushed, pulled, or knocked in the air. DK is the meta right now. DKs use wings. Wings push. Do the math. It will also protect you from javelin spammers, meteors, and literally any other thing that sends your character flying. We're here to gets kills AND survive; Nibenay's does just that.
And on that note: I chose Monomyth Reforged for the mythic because of its unmatched damage and survivability. We also won't hit the crit cap without it, and it offers us Major Protection when we need it to further our percentage mitigation stacking.
Skills and Bar Setup
This build uses two burst heals. I went with Polar Wind over Arctic Blast because it just can't stand its own in a 1v1 against a good player without the extra healing. Polar Wind is an extremely strong burst heal with a fairly nice heal over time added to it so you can continue to pressure with some healing still ticking on you. Having a burst heal slotted on the front bar also allows you to keep pressure up easier so you don't get caught bar swapping. This at least gives you a chance to make an opening. I chose Polar Wind over Leeching Vines because we needs the slotted Winter's Embrace skill for the Major Maim passive on the front bar. The other burst heal is Healing Soul mainly for the Charm from the Class Flourish script since we're not running Arctic Blast for a CC. Its undodgeable and unblockable, however it is currently bugged if the opponent is mid dodge. They will be charmed but you'll still miss everything, so be careful not to waste your Onslaught on a dodge rolled charm. We also receive Major Vitality from the script, so that will stack nicely with the Minor Vitality from Monomyth and the Major Mending from Green Balance.
Mitigation Breakdown
- Nibenay: 5%
- Minor Maim: 5% (chilled status)
- Major Maim: 10% (Winter's Embrace)
- Minor Prot: 5% (Ice Fortress)
- Major Prot: 10% (Monomyth)
- Green Keeper: 15% (Class Mastery)
- Total: 41.12% (multiplicative) which is equivalent to about 27,139 resistances that can't be penetrated. You will retain this mitigation even if you are hit with an Onslaught or Corrosive and it is unaffected by breach.
With Nibenay on top of the 7 Impen traits the build sits at around 2900 crit resistance which is equivalent to about 44% mitigation on critical damage. It could be higher if we weren't tunneled into having to use Serpent's Disdain over something like Rallying Cry, but here we are. This build can be very tanky if you keep your heals and buffs up.
