What is Tales of Tribute in ESO High Isle?

We are now able to share with you some details about the card game coming to Elder Scrolls Online with the upcoming High Isle expansion and update.

The card game, known as Tales of Tribute, will be available to all players who purchase the High Isle Expansion. In this article we will go over how you can get started in Tales of Tribute, and the basics of how to play the game.

Tales of Tribute is a card game that you can play both against NPCs and against other players. Cards are obtained by playing the game, there will be no “booster packs” available in the Crown Store, for example.

Each player will select two decks to play with in a game, the decks are then combined into a common pool of cards. You will draw five cards each turn, but you will also want to buy cards from the tavern to improve your deck during the game. These will cost some gold - this is a different currency to your normal gold and is earned within each Tales of Tribute game. Some cards can give you additional gold.

The ultimate goal of the game is to amass more prestige than your opponent, while preventing them from doing the same. The first player to earn 40 prestige will win. You can also win by having all four patrons favor you.

To begin your Tales of Tribute journey, you will need to visit the Gonfalen Gaming Hall, which can be found in Gonfalen Bay on High Isle.

Here you will find two new NPCs, Bragas and Master Razhamad, two Tales of Tribute enthusiasts who will teach you how to play and give you two card decks to get you started. First speak to Bragas just outside the Gaming Hall. He will give you a quest which will be the first step on your Tales of Tribute journey in High Isle.

Your Tales of Tribute progress will be shared across all of your characters, however you are free to redo the quests on another character if you want to.
