ZOS just finished their ESO Update 40 live stream. The devs showcased the new "Endless Archive" which is an endless dungeon that you can run with a companion in ESO. Additionally, they also announced new features, quality of life improvements and new rewards.
Update 40 will be on the Public Test Server on September 18 (Monday). Update 40 will launch oficially on 30th October on PC.

Grandmaster Crafting Station
Grandmaster Crafting stations are coming in U40. ESO has over 77 craftable sets in the game. You can obtain attunable crafting stations, 4 for each set. That is over 300 unique stations that you have to place in your home.
With the Grandmaster Crafting station you only need one type for all crafting sets. You will feed your attunable crafting station to the Grandmaster Crafting station and unlocking that specific set for the Grandmaster Crafting station.
Jewelry Crafting Changes
Jewelry crafting was launched in 2018 with Summerset, but materials are very expensive. ZOS has done a complete rebalance of the Jewelry Crafting system to be more in line with the other crafting types.
With Update 40 grains are completely removed, only the platings will stay like with the other crafting types.
Grains are renamed Ancient Grains. Platings are renamed Ancient Platings. Every Ancient Grain will convert into 1 new Plating. Every Ancient Plating will convert into 10 new Platings.
New Group Finder Tool
The Group Finder is a new tool for new groups to advertise their group. This will make it easier to find players for groups that aren't full yet.
The Group Finder tool also lets you pick your playstyle "Standard, Educational, Speed". There are plenty of other options to select from.
Endless Archive (New Base Game Addition)
Endless Archive is a brand new "dungeon" experience. You can play solo, with a companion or with another player.
Endless Archive is a base game addition, therefore you won't have to buy any DLC. If you have ESO Plus you get an extra Bonus inside the arena to get more of the new currency.
Content from all over Tamriel will be encountered inside the Endless Archive in ESO.
The Endless Archive in ESO is divided into stages, cycles and arcs. There are over 60+ Bosses from all over Tamriel that you can fight. You can fight as long as you have lives. Lives inside the Endless Archive are called "Threads of Faith". Once you are out, the archive ends.
The leaderboard is not time based anymore. The Archive is more focused on build diversity instead of speed.
Additionally, there is no normal and veteran version in the Endless Archive.
Inside the Endless Archive you will also be able to acquire buffs that increase the power of your character. These are RNG based.
After every stage you will earn a buff that only sticks for the next stage. Every cycle you will get a buff that sticks until the end of the Endless Archive. That means you will have temporary and permanent buffs.
You can check your buffs under "Mora's Boons on the top right side of your screen.
Every run inside the Endless Archive will be different.
New Class Sets and other Rewards inside Endless Archive
The Endless Archive will introduce "Class Sets" to ESO. This is a new type of sets that are specific to a class. No other class will be able to use these specific sets.
