Are multi-rider mounts finally coming to ESO in Update 33?
Multi-rider Mounts are a long requested feature in the Elder Scrolls Online. Players had their first chance to try out multi-rider mounts way back in the PTS for Stonethorn, with the Duo-Dynamo Dwarven Spider being available for testing.

Players who had been hoping to see these mounts on live were disappointed however, as they did not make an appearance, perhaps due to multiple bugs reported on ESO forums, including passengers being kicked from the game and having their characters locked.

However, multi-rider mounts have again appeared on PTS, leading to speculation that they could finally be coming to live!

What’s new with multi-rider mounts in ESO?

With the latest PTS for the Ascending Tide DLC and update, multi-rider mounts again made an appearance, as announced in the patch notes.

Along with the Duo-Dynamo Dwarven Spider mount, the Grand Pillion Draft Horse is also making an appearance for the first time, giving players a little more choice in style.

You can obtain these mounts on the PTS by checking the Mounts section of the Crown Store (everything on the PTS is free, don't worry) - presumably this will be the same when they do come onto the live server.

There are a couple of limitations worth noting with the mounts - firstly you can only carry group members on your mount, and secondly only you can control the mount that you own. If you dismount while carrying a friend, then your friend will also be forced to dismount.

You can also use the new mounts in Cyrodiil, which will certainly lead to some very funny interactions - I am already picturing two explorers getting knocked off their spider in unison by a ganker from another alliance.

How to use multi-rider mounts?

If you own the mount and want to summon it, you do this in the same way as with normal mounts. Simply select the mount in the collections menu, then summon the mount using 'H' by default on PC, the back button on Xbox, or pressing the touch pad on PlayStation.

To ride a friend’s mount as a passenger, make sure you are in a group with them, and then open the radial menu by looking at them and holding F by default on PC, or the menu button on console. Then select the “Ride Mount” option. You can also get one of your Companions to ride your mount with you by making sure that “Companion Passenger Preference” is set to Always, in the Gameplay settings menu.
