Guide

Erläuterung bauen
Dieser Leitfaden ist in Englisch geschrieben.

This off-tank build is primarily centered around dealing damage with Bash with additional goals of utilizing skills that scale off health. Most are utility skills with long cooldowns that provide buffs, debuffs, shields, healing, and crowd control. It should be a fun build for easy-moderate difficulty dungeons that don't need their tank to be 100% survival focused.

As a reminder, Bash damage is based on resistance, so the goal is to have very high resistances to increase your bash damage. Armor increases your resistance, so there is a strong preference for equipment, skills, passives, traits, etc that boost armor and resistance. Resistance will likely be well over the cap, but it will power your bash and actually be more effective in PvP where players are running lots of penetration since they will have to work to get you below the resistance cap.

The setup -

  • You want to activate Sundering Bearer, Beckoning armor, and Warding Contingency in that order before entering combat.
  • Sundering Bearer is up at all times providing a damage buff, a 3 sec shield every 3 secs (so good), and magicka and stamina recovery. It powers you up, keeps you alive, and helps ensure you don't run out of gas.
  • Beckoning Armor gives you major and minor resolve boosting your physical and spell resistance by 8922, and it passives pulls and taunts ranged attackers which is really nice utility bringing those targets into bash range.
  • Then pop Warding Contingency to give you and your allies a sizeable shield for 6 secs and a little HoT. It may not be helpful at the start of combat, but when you reapply the skill later in the fight, you will also afflict enemies with magickasteal to help with your sustain.

Once you are in combat or to initiate combat, activate Gripping Shards followed by Soul Burst.

  • Gripping Shards is a nice AOE DoT that scaled off your health and provides some crowd control. Once you pull your enemies in, you don't want them to leave. It has a slightly longer duration than Warding Burst so I'd use this one first. Warding Burst gives you and your allies another damage shield and applies minor breach to enemies reducing their physical and spell resistances. It also applies an Oblivion DoT that scales off of the enemy's max health. Since you have low magicka, stamina, and weapon and spell damage, most of your physical and spell damage and healing is going to be weak. Focusing instead on shields based on health and damage based on enemy health and debuffs that increase your damage without using your typical offensive stats seems like the more efficient and effective route.

*I really like this spell and the flexibility it provides. Alter it to fit your needs. If you don't like that it consumes soul gems for the oblivion damage, change it. If you don't need the shield and just want more damage, change it. If you'd rather have a heal than a damage, change it. It can also be swapped with Choking Talons for Minor Maim.

Once you're set up with your back bar skills, swap to the front bar and start Bashing!

  • Power Slam - This is your bread and butter skill. This skill is treated as Bash damage except it does more damage and blocking will reduce its cost. Spam it like crazy! Pair with the Deadlands Demolisher set and Pummeling Goliath to turn your bashes into AOEs, and this skill will put in work.
  • Leashing Throw gives you a ranged bash that also pulls and taunts your target. As a cherry on top, I added Major Evasion reducing damage from area attacks by 20% since you'll be in the center of the action and less mobile. This is great to pull those pesky healers in or taunt at range without leaving your spot where everyone will be focusing their AOEs.
  • Green Dragon Blood is a great tank heal based on your health that gives you other buffs boosting your health recovery, stamina recover, healing received, and damage shield strength. Great synergy with the rest of the skills.
  • The last skill slot is flexible based on your needs. I think Shimmering Shield is solid for providing Ult gen, activating Frozen Armor to increase your resistance, and activating Icy Aura to passively apply Major Maim to attackers. You could also put Gripping Shards here to get those passives, but I like having a projectile shield on the front bar so you can be more reactive with it.

Important Passives - They're all helpful, but the more relevant ones are:

  • Last Gasp - increased health
  • Frozen Armor - increased resistance
  • Scaled Armor - increased resistance
  • Fortress - decrease cost of One Hand and Shield abilities
  • Deadly Bash - increased bash damage and decreased bash cost

Equipment:

Deadlands Demolisher - Adds an AOE effect to your bashes

Lord Warden - Adds armor and increased resistance for you and your allies

Armor of the Veiled Heritance - Adds Armor and 516 Bash damage

Or

Jolting Arms - Adds Armor and when you block adds resistance and a huge burst of damage on your next block every 6 seconds.
