Guide

Explication de la construction
Ce guide est écrit en Anglais.

Introduction

Hello. I think, like many here, I simply adore fantasy. And I also love playing as an archer. Ever since Might and Magic VIII, I've preferred combat with a bow in hand. I favored this weapon type in TES III: Morrowind, TES IV: Oblivion, and TES V: Skyrim, as well as in many other games like WoW, LotRO, and others.

I've been playing ESO since 2015, and despite loving this game and always eagerly embarking on adventures across Aurbis, the archer playstyle in this game never appealed to me as much as in others. The bow often felt like a secondary weapon rather than a primary one. But I kept trying. Again and again, I tried to "return to my roots" and searched for builds, and until recently, I only used pre-made builds from the internet.

Now, something has changed. With the ability to mix skill lines from different classes and the decision to try crafting my own build, I've finally found something that fully satisfies me. With this build, I travel the open world, run dungeons and trials (I play solo, so all activities are done via group finder). With this setup, I can handle world bosses solo and tend to be among the last to fall in group content (though I think that's not because of the build itself, but because I tailored it to my playstyle - comfort sometimes matters more than raw numbers).

Back in 2015, I initially chose the Nightblade class (a friend told me that if I wanted to play an archer, only this class would fit. He was wrong, but anyway), and I've stuck with it ever since.

Alright, let's discuss the build itself.

---

Active Skills

3.1. Growing Swarm (Animal Companions)

DOT that we maintain on a single target or apply to the highest-priority enemy in a group.

3.2. Lethal Arrow (Weapon - Bow)

Our main spam ability. We spam arrows at the enemy whenever possible.

3.3. Deep Fissure (Animal Companions)

Excellent burst damage, use on cooldown. This ability works great against both groups and single targets. It reduces your distance to the target by 1.5-2x, but once you get used to it, you can stay at the edge of its range - I haven't found anything better yet. I'd happily replace it if I find a better option.

3.4. Relentless Focus (Assassination)

Provides both a buff and a powerful single-target shot. Can be used on cooldown, or you can wait and use it when you've built up 8-10 charges. It makes sense to wait if Growing Swarm or Deep Fissure need refreshing - they have higher priority.

3.5. Blazing Spear (Aedric Spear)

Provides DOT, crowd control, and a buff to allies. A solid ability that has saved me often. Helps manage groups of mobs. I like it.

3.6. Wild Guardian (Animal Companions - Ultimate)

Bear ultimate. Constantly bites the target. I use the strong attack when it's ready.

Final Thoughts

This build is the result of years of experimentation and my love for the bow as a primary weapon. It doesn't claim to be a "meta build", but it's mine - comfortable and functional. If you, like me, value not just numbers but also the joy of the process - give it a try. I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for improvement.

P.S. I’m still learning English, and while I know the basics, it’s not quite enough yet to write something like this on my own—so I used a translator for help. Sorry if anything sounds a bit off, and thank you for your attention!
