This build requires you to keep a food buff active at all times (Back-Alley Gourmand set), does around +60k. Certainly good for dungeons and solo content.
With group buffs:
- 65% critical
- 5k Spell Damage
- 12k Penetration (overkill but set bonuses end up getting you way over 7k)
- 20k Spell Resist
- 13k Physical Resist
- 35k Magicka
Resources won't be a problem at all with the build due to Recuperative Treatise, self heal with Cephaliarch's Flail and damage shield from Pragmatic Fatecarver. Tide King's Gaze for mobs that may or may not move (swap it out if you don't think you're going to have that issue).
Adding in passives from all 3 arcanist skill lines provides plenty of utility, survivability and resource management. Not all of the passives require a skill from their respective lines, so adding in those passives gives you more of a boost.
You can probably get around the same DPS without Oakensoul and do full Slimecraw plus backbar utility if you want, you'll lose around 5k dps.
The gear you can shift around between the sets with what you have unlocked since both Gourmand's and Whorl are both light. I have this setup how I had things unlocked and requiring less transmutes to make.
I tested with Deadly Strikes, Perfected Ansuul's and Perfected Whorl, out of the 3, Whorl of the Depths produced the highest DPS on a trial dummy, followed by Ansuul's then Deadly Strikes. All of them are pretty close in damage, you can get away with Deadly Strikes for around 5-7k less DPS on a trial dummy if you don't have any trial gear unlocked.
