Guide

Bauen Erläuterung
Dieser Leitfaden ist in Englisch geschrieben.

U50 is right around the corner and it is going to be bringing some amazing new passives for pure class builds. Stam DPS Necromancers are likely going to see a big power spike with this new addition. The main mastery passives that will be granting this power spike for DD Necros are 'Nothing Wasted', 'Malevolent Promise', and 'Cycle Unending'.

Nothing Wasted rewards us over time for consuming corpses by granting bonus Max Health (helpful for survivability) and bonus Weapon/Spell Damage (very important for our dps) stacking all the way up to a 20% bonus for each. Since Necromancer is very focused on consuming corpses already, this passive simply rewards us for doing what we were already doing with a big bonus to our stats.

However in my opinion, Malevolent Promise is far more interesting for the Necromancer DD. A big pain point for Necros in the game right now is the reliance on corpse consumption with not very many efficient ways of generating corpses in specific locations. Our only tools as of this moment for creating consistent corpses on top of your enemies are blighted blastbones (which comes with a rather long, sometimes varying cooldown) and Venom Skull/Ricochet Skull which only creates a corpse on every third-ish cast. (depending on the morph you choose) This lack of choice regarding corpse placement is only worsened by the stationary aspect of corpses. Once a Necro DD has begun attacking, it becomes nearly impossible to keep up consistent and competitive dps if the target begins moving since those corpses that you rely on do not move with the target. Malevolent Promise offers an elegant solution to this issue by marking nearby enemies and treating them as a corpse for your corpse consuming abilities. With this mastery passive you are now able to keep corpses on bosses almost 100% of the time no matter how much running around they do. So, how do we make the most of this? (Week 3 update on the PTS, this ability has been tweaked to also activate Corpse Consumption rank 1 granting more ultimate.)

Another great option for our mastery passives is Cycle Unending. This passive functions as a rather large execute ability as we can gain up to a 25% damage bonus against enemies depending on how low their health has gotten. Example Scenario: If you have 75% current Health, and your enemy has 50%, you would gain 25% damage against them. (Week 3 Update on the PTS has also changed this bonus to being a multiplicative damage modifier meaning that 25% damage bonus is much more impactful now.)

To gain the most from our passives we will need to focus this build around consuming corpses. Luckily for us Necromancers, we have an amazing gear set option with the Corpseburster set. Since we plan on consuming corpses nonstop, Corpseburster will constantly be proccing resulting 100% uptime on minor breach for all enemies near the initial consumed corpse + giant explosions of damage every time we overcast Detonating Siphon. (Week 3 PTS update has also changed Corpseburster's damage type from Magic damage to Disease damage)

Since so much of our damage comes from poison/disease, we are also able to make great use of sets like The Morag Tong increasing most of our damage sources by an additional 10% as well as the damage of our group members who might also be using poison/disease abilities. However, this set can be optionally swapped out with Order's Wrath, Tide-Born Wildstalker, or other trial gear if your group does not benefit as much from The Morag Tong set's debuff.

Necromancer is still a fairly complicated class and this build can be somewhat intense with it's rotation when managing two bars. However, running this build on a one bar setup is just as effective as the two bar setup if that is a concern.
